Dear New Orleans Saints fans,

I present to you a case for casting aside institutional allegiance. Consider a new favorite.

Note the precision in these highlights. The Falcons are becoming a potent offensive team, and Norwood's a large part of it. Finally.

Also, consider these:
 • The Falcons have Jerious Norwood. (Worth a second mention. In 2006, the backfield was 75% Mississippi State guys: Norwood, Justin Griffith, and Fred McCrary.)
 • The New Orleans Saints have Archie Manning, Deuce McCallister, and now Ed Orgeron. (I just happened to see Orgeron on the sidelines, in some professional capacity, in what I assume is a mercy gig.)
 • Starkville is closer to Atlanta (284 miles) than New Orleans (about 297 miles). (I grew up in Starkville, so this fact always made me question the strong Saints fandom in Mississippi--at least where I lived.)
Yet despite these things, there's always been an inordinate number of State fans who naturally cling to the Saints. I've never really understood it. I moved to Flowery Branch in 06, a couple of weeks before they drafted Norwood. I've gone to training camps for Mora, Petrino, and now Smith. This year, with Smith, things seemed much calmer, more confident. The guy's a great coach.

History will also show that Thomas Dimitroff, the new GM, is a talent assessment genius. This draft and free agency alone. I can't wait to see where this thing goes.

But now, YOU TOO can get in on the early stages of a Falcons resurgence! Good bandwagoning requires good timing!

Act now! Or be destined to years of resentment and envy!

...then again, maybe not. Wise men still follow the star.

Come on man, get real. I'm a Saints fan, and I'll be the first to admit that we got torched yesterday... but seriously, have you watched a game all year that the Saints have played? (and the Oakland game doesn't count). The Saints quite possibly have the worst secondary(maybe just worst coached) in the history of football.

Five for America's team, just one Solicitation Arrest for the Defensive Captain of the Dirty Birds.

And, unlike the Cowboys, those two teams didn't need 8 trips to the Super Bowl to accomplish that feat.

is why the Saints have had so few MSU players. I don't think it's a conspiracy or anything like that, but it sure seems like Ole Miss better players end up there.

And I'm not really a Saints guru but Atlanta is a poor man's N.O. when it comes to a lot of things

I always have my fantasy players to root for, which has been suprisingly theraputic considering the teams I am fans of.
