Plenty of info already out there, please feel free to add whatever you like.

— Tommy Armstrong said that he was overall pleased with the performance in Saturday’s scrimmage. Tommy said there were passes that he could have had back in the scrimmage that fell incomplete.

Tommy said he’s not sure what his numbers are completion percentage-wise for the fall, but said the group needs to get better as a whole going forward.

- Nyatawa, "Offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf called the plays Saturday. They were signaled from the sideline. Quarterback Tommy Armstrong interpreted those signals and relayed it to his teammates. They broke the huddle. Then analyzed the defense. And finally, snapped the ball.

The process got bogged down at times. Quarterbacks had to signal for timeouts a couple times. They want to be sharper, according to both Langsdorf and Armstrong.

"We were slow at times," Langsdorf said. "We've got to get that communication faster. We've got to break the huddle quicker so that we can look at the defense and get us to the best play available."

Said Armstrong: "Just making sure we know personnel. Making sure we get into the huddle. Making sure we're getting the plays, the signals from the coaches. Making sure we're getting to the line on time. During the scrimmage, we found ourselves in a hole, being able to get guys in motion — and we have like 4 seconds left on the play clock."

- Long, " Nebraska's Tommy Armstrong wants to improve on "average" scrimmage performance."

I think the open practices are losing their shine as evidenced by the replies to this thread. The first couple open practices were like, Oh yeah, how cool, and we hung on every word and tweet. Now it is like, yeah, they practiced today. I didn't even watch the Langsdorf video, just read the interesting quotes.

Classic case of forbidden fruit.

My effort with the OP was lazy as well.

From what I found, it appears the regular weekly practices will be closed to the media this fall other than the first 15 minutes on Tuesdays.

"The weekly game week schedule beginning Monday, Aug. 31, will be as follows: All practices closed to media other than time on Tuesday to shoot video/photos. Practices scheduled to begin in 3:30 to 3:45 range"

I figured they would close practices once the season started. It would be illogical to not close them. There will still be plenty of media access and I suspect that there will be much more coming out from practice from staff and players than previous. It is apparent that Eichorst and Riley want the fans to be part of the program again.

Back when I was at UNL, I could easily hop over to the stadium and watch them practice. I guess I'm not sure if I was supposed to or not but no one said anything to me. Of course I didn't really know how to observe a practice like many here, but it was fun on a random afternoon to watch the team prepare. They also practiced at Memorial Stadium quite a bit then.
