Fall MSU Baseball Thoughts

I haven't been able to catch any of the scrimmages, but I'd be curious to see what those who have seen them have to say.

Found it interesting that Britton is leading the team in hitting at above .450. For a guy that hasn't hit above .200 in his career, that's an encouraging sign.

Also, our freshman class (particularly Hudson and Humphreys) appears to be as good as advertised according to reports. Sounds like Collins and Swinarski are also impressing.

A lot to be excited about with that program.

Britton has had breakout potential ever since he set foot on campus. Some guys it takes a few years to settle down and grow into the college game and I said back during the regular season he has the potential to have a huge season. We will see how he looks in the spring but I'm not terribly surprised by the success he's having so far.

If you go back and look at his stats in high school, they aren't just good, they are borderline jaw dropping in a region that puts out good D1 talent.

If you've missed the scrimmages all you have to do is pick a few Twitter feeds and you can get play by play and I don't say that in a positive way. I can't wait for first pitch this Spring but I've stopped following several feeds because I don't give a rats *** in October about a single up the middle in October in a practice.

Peeper. You need to just create a list. I have one for college baseball. Its a. Great tool and wont clog your normal timeline

I was following about 1000000 sports feeds and it got to the point where it took an hour to just read the prior 15 minutes of updates. I then created lists for everything. NFL, college football, MSU, news, science, etc etc etc. Now I just read whichever lists I need updating on. It definitely saves a great deal of time.

Were there any harmful defections? I saw where Flair left, and maybe a few others.

Will the ones that left hurt us or do we have better ones filling in?
