I'm thinking of going with the traditional RB, RB, WR, QB, WR strategy (dependent on how the draft goes). Any advice to the contrary? Also, any sleepers any of you may have picked up on in your fantasy drafts? I'm pick 8 of 12, standard scoring....

You may get lucky at 8 and get DeAngelo Williams, but I doubt it. I would take the best RB available like a Slaton and then draft Andre Johnson, Fitzgerald...I think you can grab a really good RB in the 3rd round while at the same time have a top WR

Sleepers?

Look for Derrick Ward and Cedric Benson to have pretty good years and be of real good value

I personally went QB first and picked Drew Brees. But then again, I am only in an 8 team league. If I were you, I might go QB, RB, WR for my first three.

because I always make sure and draft either a top QB or a top WR with that 12th pick. Why take the 7th or 8th best RB with that 12th pick rather than take a top QB or WR? Especially when we are in the era of the 2-headed RB

You can try to plan your picks, but you never know who is out there until it is your pick.

I usually go RB with the first pick, but after that it is up for grabs... Take the best player available.

I also dipped down and picked up Brees, and I had second pick. May come back to bite me in the *** but I wanted a top Quarterback this year.

I had projections of points for the different players, and the QB I would have gotten 18 picks later or whatever was much worse than the RBs I could still get. I ended up with a pretty solid team too. I know you're supposed to go RB, RB, etc. but sometimes going against script works.

I also think Brees is going to have a monster year. But I ended up with Steve Slaton and Brandon Jacobs who are both serviceable running backs. So yes, I agree with you that going according to plan isn't always the best way to do it. Hell, if anyone else goes off script it makes it totally screwed anyway and there will be players left that technically should have already been drafted.

if he's there. Been slipping in a lot of drafts. Williams would be a good pick at 8 as well. Take the best WR on the board with your next pick and wait for a QB later in the draft. Value picks (in order of subsequent rounds): Pierre Thomas, Ocho Cinco, Eddie Royal, Ray Rice, Matt Schaub or Jay Cutler, Ahmad Bradshaw.

Bottom of round one I'd go after Chris Johnson, Steven Jackson, Andre Johnson, Randy Moss, or Frank Gore.

Wouldn't go after a QB till later, once the first run on QB's there should be some pretty good options left over and you can get them at a much cheaper price (Nabb, Schaub, Palmer, Cutler, Hasselbeck.) and it's not near the droppoff as what you face by not landing your stud RB's and WR's.

Sleepers? Middle round: Donald Brown, Ray Rice, Josh Morgan, Chris Henry, James Davis, Percy Harvin. Later Rounds: Glen Coffee, Devone Bess, Deion Butler (Seatle WR in the mold of Eddie Royal) Ahmad Bradshaw, Mike Bell, Steve Smith (Giants)
