FSU didn't maximize the uptempo. People will run it until there's no longer perceived advantage to it.

I've been in favor of pointing out the inconsistencies in the strategy and place in the game. These people who run it in the spread would hate it if teams started running uptempo wishbone and make the same guys take a pounding down the field.

Also, I'd exploit the lack of sportsmanship in the move. I wished coaches taught that - against teams that try to exploit the uptempo offenses - the defender wraps up and takes the ball-carrier to the ground and doesn't let go until the ref makes him. A defense holding the ball for longer is tantamount to an offense resetting the ball faster.

Interesting. Never thought about holding ball carrier down. Who was the team out west that faked injuries against Oregon?

Somebody posted on here last season after the A&M game that they had a convo with Swopes parents. They thanked MSU for not faking injuries like everyone else. It sort of made me wonder if we were again the team lagging behind the trend but then I realized it wouldn't have mattered anyway - they were the dominant team fast or slow.

But for this weekend I expect a lot of cramps in that Texas heat.
