As contagious as this thing is, it does seem likely. The big question is when we’re going to finally see a medical breakthrough beyond testing. I know that there are a lot of things cooking behind the scenes, but will 5 months be enough time for clinical trials?

I’m also curious if the NCAA would consider playing without fans in attendance. Considering how quickly other events have been cancelled, I don’t know

There's a glimmer of hope that we may still have football.

Or that shining light could be retinal detachment. **

What if we played NCAA Spring sports baseball, Softball, etc late summer/fall and play football in Spring/early Summer 2021

Not to be a jerk but they’ve always said it will return each year just like the flu, but as above said, we will be much better prepared with supplies but most importantly therapeutic treatments for symptoms. It will always be around until we have the vaccine available next year, and assuming most get vaccinated

Oh great! Now we’ll have an annual “deadhead freak out”. I personally look forward to all 2,000+ posts about the Chinese virus from him/her.***

It's already been proven this virus is co-existing with the flu etc. It's part of why the symptoms vary so much. You could have the flu and the rona.

A couple things on fall football that made me feel better from reading a few medical articles last night. We're mitigating now due to a lack of early
supplies but assuming a slowdown before a fall return, we'll be back in a containment position. We're adding this stuff quickly but primarily more testing to know where it is and to isolate early, and then more supplies for hospitals and staff to be prepared. Treatment is also improving as we learn what to do.

This latest article suggests a case fatality rate of 1.38% and an infection fatality rate of .66%, both of which should continue to go down. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/laninf/article/PIIS1473-3099(20)30243-7/fulltext Of course this article was buried on CNN while the headline was about mass chaos.

A third less scientific approach from talking to a few businesses. If we're really talking no fall football, it's likely a moot point because we'd be screwed way before football season. Businesses can't shut down forever.

He’s been saying that for a while. He’s also said that everyone will be much better prepared for it and it will be nothing like what we are seeing now.

And many will not get vaccinated, for one reason or the other. I know many people who refuse to take the flu vaccine (egg allergies, stubborness, etc.).

He'll get the ban hammer long before then.

Fortunately, everybody doesn’t have to get vaccinated. Just need enough for herd immunity.
