I loved Rivers killer instinct and cocky attitude, but I always thought he killed the team chemistry and was a bit to selfish, in the way win or lose I need to get mine.

Sorry, but that has to be the weirdest fave 5 ever.

It was Austin's cocky attitude that gave the impression of self-centeredness. I don't know that we can have the positives related to confidence w/o the impression -- impression -- that he was "me first." Even his iconic shot to beat UNC -- there's that angle where he can be seen waving Seth off, sort of a calm-down-I-got-this gesture. There was never any doubt he was going to take the shot, never a thought that he might pass.

The way I heard it, the issues w/ that team were more about Miles and Seth resenting Austin than Austin doing anything the coaches didn't accept as our best chance to win that year.
