Unquestionably better than the original. SO good.

John Hurt dead: The true story behind the iconic Alien chestburster scene

What makes the scene so iconic, however - alongside the technical bravura and Ridley Scott's incredibly simplistic direction - is that none of the cast knew what was coming next either.

Dan O'Bannon (executive producer/screenwriter): Once the creature was rigged up, they stuffed the chest cavity full of organs from the butcher's. Then they ran a couple of big hoses to pump the stage blood. During all this Ridley moved about, tending to the finest detail. I remember easily half an hour was spent with him draping this little piece of beef organ so it would hang out of the creature's mouth.

Shusett: Veronica Cartwright - when the blood hit her, she passed out. I heard from Yaphet Kotto's wife that after that scene he went to his room and wouldn't talk to anybody.

The debate between Alien and Aliens could be a full book. There is no right or wrong answer, despite there being dozens of points for each one over the other. I think I'd be inclined to pick Aliens as well, but by the smallest of of margins. And it ONLY works because it oozes that 80s cheese.

80’z cheese is the best of all worlds. Cheap. Real. Mostly natural. Often synthetic. Yet didnt quite kill you. It was GOOD for you even if u didnt like it.

Genuine in its authentic ridiculous reality.

Didn't see anybody mention them, so here's two of my favorites.
.
Crossroads, white kid who wants to play blues digs up old blues guy who just wants to get his soul back from the devil. Bonus, Stevie Vai is in the movie and does a lot of the guitar work, Ry Cooder does all the blues guitar.

The Name of the Rose, Sean Connery is like a 14th century monk/Columbo. He tries to solve a crime at a monks abbey.

Yeah, I stated it unequivocally but it was kind of an off the cuff remark. It’s really just how I look at it. I just liked the feel of Cameron’s way of doing things over Scott’s. And I do love em both.
