Well, it’s not contemporary in the sense the OP suggested but it’s a favorite of mine . . . “Joy To The World (the LORD has come),” and the truth is still contemporary.
This was my favorite Christmas song as a kid. It's been covered many times. Emmylou Harris does a slower, traditional version and Sammy Kershaw does an uptempo, cajun version. Both great.
Chris Tomlin and Matthew West have a "contemporary version" of this song, however King & Country may have the best version IMHO
If you have never seen them in CONCERT, you gotta go. we try and go each year!!
Great show. I’m far less familiar with Mannheim Steamroller but a couple people I know who have seen both speak well of their show too.
He played their music as bumper music a lot and was an intro to their music for me.
