Mac's Pizza Pub is okay - they do have gluten-free pizza which my wife gets.

A Tavola is very good, but not really traditional pizza.

You're right though, I do need to get out more.

Are you referring to new haven KY? If so I have to agree that's a damn good pizza. Biggest hole in the wall place I've ever been in tho. I thought Bonnie & Clydes was a hole in the wall until I went there. Still think Bonnie & Clydes is the best.
Yep. It's not really that easy to find. Never had Bonnie & Clydes but if rivals NH then I'm in.

Yeah, when I think of classic traditional pizza I think of sweat pea and bacon. Or evoo, brussell sprouts, and fontina. Or fig!

Brings back childhood memories!

Last time I went to A Tavola I had sausage, basil, fresh mozzarella and mushroom. Crazy, huh?

Just because they have unique ingredients to choose from, if you want, doesn't mean you have to get them. Just get a pepperoni and cheese if you want.

Side note: My father-in-law and I split a Don Corleone at Dewey's last night. Excellent.

If your signature pizzas include ingredients that no one has ever heard of before, then you're a modern, eclectic pizza place. Not traditional.

Of course you "can" order a pepperoni pizza but then they're going to ask if you want goat cheese or fortina, would like to add sweet peas or cauliflower, and want an aioli after-bake. Then they'll roll your eyes at you for not getting eggs and dates on their pizza and tell you to go to Papa John's next time under their breath. They called you a simpleton after you left.

I like it but it's far from traditional. Modern and eclectic, which is fine.

They make traditional neapolitan wood fired pizzas. The Madeira location is closer to my house and they also offer Roman style crusts.

You are right, it is modern and eclectic. They do have a lot of ingredients to choose from. Some are not typical.

But, they have every "normal" topping you could want as well.

BTW, their Wagyu meatballs are the bomb and they make a killer Old Fashioned.

Vandalay, what part of town do you live in? We need to have a Cincy area game watch get together at least once a season.

For select posters only like wcc, abh, MaxPowerrr, Joety Rupption, etc., of course.

I live on the east side - Mariemont. I've been to your A Tavola and especially Mac's all the time. Work in Montgomery. Always up for a good meal and the kates.

Had a really good pizza at Hard Knox in Knoxville last week. If you go to the UT/UK game this year, I recommend their wood oven pies.

If you live in Louisville, you’ve got to try Impellizzeri’s.

Local chain - LaRosa's. It's all about the sauce.

Local, single location - Joe's Pizza Napoli. Wood fired pizza, cooked at 900 degrees for between 90 seconds and 3 minutes, depending on size and toppings. Yum!

Nearby, single location - The Works in Loveland, OH. Brick oven pizza.

Not as close, but worth the drive - Pizza Crossing in Logan, OH.

I live in Campbell County. There is a food truck opening up a brick and mortar in Alexandria.

It is called The Slice is Right (uses Price is Right lettering- well done imo).

Had it for first time Friday night. Delicious. NY style large pieces, crispy crust. Will be revisiting for sure.

Used to eat La Rosa's at Kings Island and loved the sauce so much that I started buying in in the can.

As long as the pizza isn't bad, I'm good with about any. Degrees of goodness escape me on this subject.

False. LaRosa's is absolute garbage.

Wouldn't go that far. Isn't my favorite but have been around it my whole life, better than most chains. But to each their own.

My favorite pizza fwiw from years ago was Pazzo's Funky Chicken...talking original Pazzo's before it went to sh*t.

Best pizza I can recall was from a place in Festival Market in downtown Lexington called Ruggero's or something like that. I was just a kid when I had it, but it was really thick, had tons of cheese and the flavor was like nothing else I've ever had. It was excellent.

You remember where Country Cousins Bakery was? It will be in that building at some point this summer. Sign on door but remodeling, etc currently.

For the time being they are still cooking out of their food truck behind building.

Pretty sure they are there just on Thursdays and Fridays.

IOW, 10 steps from the Court House/Historical Society.

Could be a local chain or a nationwide one.

Papa Johns is my favorite tbh. They have pretty good deals going on usually too.

There was a place in atlanta - off chamblee tucker —- in a mundane strip mall w/a generic sign in red letters that said “pizza”

it was just bad assed NY style giant slices of crispy but cheesy heaven

their stuffed pizza was friggin —>> SHAMEFUL

and they had this TINY flippin salad bar that held like 5-6 items ....but it included greek style salad components and the best garlic rolls i’ve ever had

**** man - that place was an institution went with work ppl etc
