Giuseppe's? I admittedly have no clue what good Italian is because I don't like tomato based sauces but it seems somewhat authentic.

Paisano's has been there forever. Not sure how they've stayed in business, because they are always slow. Probably have done little to update the decor in the last 25 years, either. The food is okay, but the cannolis are :100points::100points::100points:.

Have had some good meals at Giuseppe's, just don't get out there much.

Portofino's has never impressed me.

Was craving LJS about 4 years ago. Caved. Huge mistake.

I think Smithtown has the best fried fish in town these days.

You're right. I LOVE the sea bass they pull in off the coast of Staten Island whenever I'm in NYC [eyeroll]
Does everyone think of Staten Island when someone says NYC?

There is crappy sea food on the coast and there is good. Same with the Midwest. The ceiling for quality seafood is higher on the coasts. It would seem like a simple thing to comprehend.

Just hammering home the absolute truth that you can get good fresh seafood coast to coast with modern logistics. Totally agree there is good/bad stuff everywhere but insisting you need to be in NYC or a coastal city to eat well is totally false.

Yeah, BuffaloSlim is struggling with this one. On any given night, your Top Tier NYC Seafood restaurants, many among the best in the world, are only getting a fraction of their 'fresh seafood' from anywhere near the NYC "coast".

Classic case of someone trying to sound smart/snobby on something they clearly have no clue about -- no unlike his gambol contributions.

Somebody just opened a new Italian Restaurant in Lexington called Amici's. It is next to Taco Tico. Can't imagine it stays open longer than a few days.

Cal should open an authentic Italian place like they got in New York. The dishes should have names like One and Done, Dribble Drive, and the Tweak.

The number one "can't believe they are still open" restaurant in Lexington. Has to be a money laundering thing.

You left out chi-chis and max & ermas
Max and Erma's was awesome. I always thought I could have pulled a lot of tail with those old timey table phones if I hadn't been 9 years old.

I second Middle Fork. Pretty unique and everything was good. Try their peanut butter. I'm serious.

Hitting Tony's this weekend for the first time. I just looked at their menu and I shouldnt have checked prices.:flushed:
