Favorite Semi-final game memories

2001 - Morris/Metamora - great game, but best remembered for the weather. It was like pea soup in Morris that night with Morris winning the "Fog Bowl" 28-14.

2007 - Morris/Woodstock (Marian) - If memory serves, and it's entirely possible it doesn't, but I think Marian had two D1 OL and Morris sealed the 10-9 with a 4th down stand late in the game.

I believe it was Budmayar at QB for Marian. Not sure if Bulaga was still there that year. It was a great game.

2023 4A semifinal vs. Wheaton Academy. Blocked PAT in OT to send the Vikings to their first state title game since 1979.

2018 Cary Grove vs Nile Notre Dame

Great atmosphere, two great teams slugging it out. Jump pass interception and then a great drive from Cg to get to the finals.

Brian Bulaga and Sean Cwynar.

Bulaga. Good god. I saw him as a sophomore. He looked like Mike Alstott. He was still playing fullback at the time.

cwynar was good but I never thought he was at the same level as bulaga. The ND offer was surprising.

Cwynar had a great ND career — was a key contributor on d line.

The — admirably, didn’t futz around with the NFL, where he certainly could have made a few practice squads at least.

Got his MBA and went right into the family business.

Rumors swirled yesterday that defensive tackle Sean Cwynar, a key contributor along the defensive line, had been telling classmates in Notre Dame's MBA program that he wouldn't be coming back next year to Notre Dame.
