I think almost everyone had Tokoto at #1, or right close to it, at one point. I agree on their rankings lacking comparatively though.
I still maintain that Carolina wont be significantly improved from last year. It's really a group of nice role players with no star power. History states that is not the type of team Roy Williams wins with. This same group was a 12 loss team
Fear? Um, has he looked at what Duke is doing on the recruiting trail lately? Seriously, is there a hotter program recruiting right now than Duke? UK can make a claim, but the list ends right there.
DukieJay...I used to think that no one could be that dumb. Like in tv shows and movies when there's that one character that's a complete moron/imbecile. I would always be like there's no way that someone could really be that dumb but I come across those type of people on almost a daily basis, whether it be out in the real world or online (specifically over at THR). It's a scary thing when you realize that there are people that really are that dumb.

Cory I like you. I really do but you guys better win the nc this year. How in the world can you not win it. You keep getting these NPOY candidates like Paige and McAdoo. You get can't miss players like Tokoto and Hairston who probably would have been a NPOY candidate if he could have had a little self control. You keep getting all these top notch home grown players like Hicks and and Pinson. You have all these talented other players like Meeks, Johnson and Jackson. You had Duke on the ropes twice last year and blew both games and it didn't have a thing to do with the refs. Pretty soon some folks that drag Franklin St. are going to start having some second thoughts about daggum HOF Coach Roy Williams and may wish that he did indeed be the Tar Heels biggest fan. Now one more thing Cory and I know you will be straight forth and honest about this question I going to ask you. First of all I see nothing wrong with any of your recent post here on our board. But if any one of us had posted similar things over at THR how long before we wold get the tombstone and by the way that's pretty clever. Seriously Cory how long would we last? No spin. I don't really know about the first half of your post. I assume you are parodying things you've seen at THR?? I also assume you realize one could parody that same stuff on every home board I've ever visited.
I think you greatly exaggerate the differences in the two boards. UNC fans say the same thing about this board you guys say about ours. No one is really able to see it both ways. Not even you and you are a hell of a guy IMO. Nor am I and I am a hell of a guy IMO as well. I've seen Duke fans given plenty of rope over there once they have been established. It is that way everywhere. If you disagree that's cool but that is the way I've always seen it and I've been around long enough.
I have not posted here in a while but figured I would come over since the season isn't too far away. If I ever overstep my bounds I assume a mod will let me know though. I've had good conversations in the past with the mods here. When it comes down to it we are all basically good people, the same and all that...we just cheer for different teams. Some take this **** way too seriously. Perhaps that is where I benefit because I'm not in the state.
Regardless, I'm glad you showed up on the main board, Sky. I've enjoyed your posts. I even enjoy the ones knocking on UNC a bit. I think you present it in a way that is pretty fun and lacks the malicious intent so many posters can't leave out of theirs.
I agree with dukiejay about the holes next season. Not sure why this same cast of high potential players is definitely getting over the hump this year. At some point you need to realize you have nice talent but not championship talent.
I don't see it as "high potential" talent. Personally, I don't think the ceiling is that much higher than last year. I think Pinson and Berry are middle of the road acc players. Jackson will probably be their best player and he isn't exactly someone you need to gameplan defensively around

100% disagree. Several months ago there was a thread on THR asking who everyone thought was the best long range shooter in the history of the ACC. I said in my opinion it was JJ Redick. I got called a Duke homer and was immediately banned. That's all I said and was banned without any explanation. I understand you guys being hurt over there. Hell I would be hurt if it were the other way around, but the truth is it's not, and there's no end in sight.

I'm going to agree with QC Dukie, and disagree with Cory. And that's not because I think we're head and shoulders above THR, but because of human nature. The fact is we're ridin' high right now...National Champions, recruiting through the roof, etc., while UNC is in the midst of a 5 year long scandal, recruiting has dropped like a rock, and their rival (us) have won 2 NCAA Championships since they won their last one. THR is on the edge, defensive as hell, and we (DI board) are feeling our oats. If the situation were reversed this board would probably meltdown also...in fact during some of our early flameouts in the NCAA's in the past this place was a mess with posters going after each other, and outsiders coming in to pour gasoline on the fire. So, IMO, THR is quite touchy right now, and I have no problem with it...in fact I'm doing what rivals do...enjoying it. UNC basketball isn't just losing recruits and basketball games, it's losing it's pure as the driven snow reputation. It's gone, and it'll never be quite the same again. Oh, the basketball program will recover and be formidable, but the Carolina Way is dead and gone.

Cory, I disagree with you my friend. Duke fans are not given a ton of rope over there. We used to have a lot of rope, and I enjoyed the back and forth that was allowed back in time. Like I said before in this thread, the Gerald Henderson/Hansbrough thing changed things. I think you'd be fooling yourself if you think it is now. I do think UNC posters, if they want to debate constructively, get a fair shake over here. You may not like the responses you get in return, but the moderators allow them immediate rope if the keep it on point.
As far as mods go, DJ and Denn are about as good as it gets with freedom of speech.
I agree with this. It will never be the same as it was. It is what it is. I never post there again even if I was allowed to. I check it out from time to time and also to check on Mike Irby. Too much water's gone under that bridge. I'll just keep posting here and try to run off all the trolls I can. If you come here acting like a fool then I'll treat you like a fool. I don't think I'm banned, I've only posted there 3 or 4 times in my ten years here. I posted something a month or so ago that wasn't baiting, aggressive, rude, or anything of that nature. It was removed really for no other reason than gutlessness. It asked a reasonable question that they just didnt like the answer to. If a UNC fan posted something in the same tone and spirit here, I give you a 100% guarantee it wouldn't be deleted.
I've seen Duke posters given room for debate if they come over there and act reasonably and establish themselves. I've seen it fairly recently, though I almost exclusively post on the main board these days. I've definitely seen it since the Henderson incident. I think if one thinks the Henderson incident was the impetus for change then it is reasonable to assume one side would be more bitter about that incident than the other regardless of how anyone feels about it (and I know most realize this and is not something I want to argue here or there as it is history). Now, I'm not saying some Duke posters haven't been banned quickly either. I think it is a fair point to say that UNC fans in general are a little more defensive right now though. I get that. You guys are rolling, which makes it a lot easier to kind of write of anything rival fans say and not really care about it. For us, we may be kind of pissed off in general and ready to fight (almost as if we are backed into a corner or whatever).

MikeIrby has been cool with me, although I don't go there to flame but to state a case for Duke (or whatever the topic may be). A few people there are pretty cool, but then you have clowns like Keyser, Gary, Steat, Spacey, Archer, etc, that just make it difficult to sort through the trash. UNC is down, and they'll be down once the NCAA presses more on them, but I do see them winning the title this year (or at least a FF appearance). They'll get a few more "decent" recruits (that they'll project as the next superstar) but their spiral isn't over yet.

That's the main difference between THR and DI. You can be right at THR and get banned. You can be right here without even posting at THR and get banned. Now to me that shows a lot between the two fan bases. OFC

My goodness, Gary 7 probably has at least one good thought in his brain but for some reason everything he says makes him sound as dumb as a watermelon. He is so full of jealously and hatred its sad.
HUGE difference. The persons content should determine whether they are right or wrong. Not their affiliation. I do not like visitors coming here with legit debate on their minds and being told that they can't debate because they have not built enough equity with the rest of the crowd. If you have good things to say, you can always post here and by and large you will be given a fair shake.
I was once blacklisted from THR and had not even posted there in months. The only board I have even been banned from, and I hadn't even typed a word there.I can vouch for every moderator on this site, we haven't banned anyone for things said elsewhere or for being a fan of another program.
Yeah, Denn and I actually got banned that time when Hansbrough accosted Hendo. The problem behind that though was neither of us posted over there following the incident.

A visitor posting like iamjericho at THR would have been banned a long time ago over there. But really, all he's done is post some dumb stuff. He really hasn't done anything to get himself the boot.
Lastly, as a guest at a rival's board you're required to have thick skin. For one, you're probably going to read some stuff you'd prefer not to see. And two, just moving on and not being an *** is sometimes a difficult thing to do. If you're a person like that it's probably just best you not post at all except for on your home board.

The only problem I have with HOF Coach Roy Williams on recruiting trips is when he brings that daggum " nanner puddin." Isn't there a regulation about bringing food on an airplane. I wonder if he's giving samples to airport security. I think the NCAA should look into this also.

Hi, Mark! I can't believe you referenced me again. I am definitely surprised. Guys have certainly been able to debate there. I mean, it isn't really a question of whether or not you think it is true or not. It is true. I'm not saying guys haven't been banned for debating at times either. I assume you realize both could be true depending on a number of variables. There certainly may have been times when guys were banned after that incident. I would imagine there was a general ban of Duke fans after that incident. I know since then there have been conversations even about that incident on that board though. So does that contradict their points? I don't think so, though it would seem you would. Maybe you should tell them that. I bet if their name was Cory you would.
That, right there, tells me everything I need to know. @denniden and @dukiejay, every felt the need for a general ban of another fanbase over here? My guess is no.
Pretty sure there was a general ban after the NOA were released. Lots of fans suddenly banned, many of whom had never even posted at THR. Several here and at Rupp Rafters have voiced that sentiment.
