Steat is dumb. Really dumb. But he believes every word of what he typed.
Sounds like Gary, DSouth, ChapelHeeled, Gunslinger, MikeIrby . . . actually every poster over there.Steat is dumb. Really dumb. But he believes every word of what he typed.
Haha i think GSD came in and said every word of Steat's post was true. I guess b/c Steat says it makes it true.Sounds like Gary, DSouth, ChapelHeeled, Gunslinger, MikeIrby . . . actually every poster over there.

Remember Jerry, it's not a LIE if you believe it!
Right- which is why it's so hilarious. Like you are just flat out making things up and passing them off as truths (should be a politician). BUT, that doesnt actually make them true- sorry GSD, Chapleheeled, DSouth etc. You can't just wish history was different and make it so. But i guess that's why UNC is the joke it is right now.And that's the thing....they make up truths.
1) The only reason K does halftime interviews during the NCAA Tournament is because it's required by the NCAA. There's no other reason. He hates doing them and has stated such. He's never, ever dodged them in the NCAA Tournament.
2) Also, K has never missed a postgame presser in the NCAA Tournament because he was sick. It's just a straight-up lie. I believe the game was against Wake Forest two years ago where he didn't go to the postgame conference because he wasn't feeling well. Somehow....surprise, surprise....a UNC fan has gone and made up a (another) lie to make the story sound better from their perspective. Bravo.
Well if being honest that is somewhat true. Without going into too much detail, there were a couple other folks that REALLY went nuts in that room when HB spurned us. Long story short, when you leave the IN-Home and the recruit says, "Coach save #40 for me," you can reasonably assume that you have said recruit. Didn't work out with that, but i'd say it worked out just fine for us.Steat being Steat:
"it's true that K went nuts when Barnes announced for the Heels"
If by nuts, you mean won the national title, then ok.
Missing on Barnes turned out to be one of the greatest blessings in disguise we've seen in this program. Singler goes onto be MOP in the final 4, we win it all, Kyrie is the number one pick, we have recruiting prowess from then on out. I'll take it.Coach K certainly was not happy when Barnes announced for UNC. Why would he be? I would not have wanted to be around him for a while after that. Like a few of us have talked about before, the Barnes recruitment has led to ridiculous recruiting heights for Duke and UNC has suffered a bit in results and recruiting since then. I will take missing on Barnes to light a fire under K and do what he has done.
I don't think Duke fans can reasonably argue we weren't bitter toward Barnes, and in most cases, we still are to an extent. But since Barnes triggered for the Heels, this is what has happened.
-Duke wins the 2010 national championship less than five months later
-Kyrie becomes the #1 overall pick
-Duke has a 10-3 record head-to-head vs. the Heels
-Duke has won two national titles
-UNC hasn't returned to a Final Four since said announcement
-Duke's record in the NCAA Tournament is 17-4 during that span, with two first-round exits, mind you
-UNC has a record of 10-5 in the tournament, including missing the field altogether in 2010
-Duke has 10 first-round picks and two in the second-round....UNC has seven and one (with four of those seven coming in one year)
So, while yes, some of us still harbor resentment at Barnes, I think it's safe to say since his announcement for the Heels this has been a very one-sided rivalry. If pumping their chest about winning that recruitment makes them feel good (and btw, Barnes had a losing record against Duke while he was there) then have at it. The reason they're still happy about it is because it's really the last thing they've have go right against us. It says more about the state of their program when that's all they got.
I still do not like Barnes.

His last game in a UNC uniform was pitiful; fitting end given his recruiting announcement and how well he handled that...Same.
I had never been so happy to watch someone struggle so much. Turnover after turnover. Proved that his handle was subpar and lacked the ability to get his own shot. His last game in a UNC uniform was pitiful; fitting end given his recruiting announcement and how well he handled that...
I did. Best 4 years of my life. Archer is an idiot.it's impossible for someone to wanna go to Duke by following their heart?

Archer in reference to the Giles recruitment:
Exactly. Does he go with his heart(Wake or UNC) or does he go with his head(the new OADU)? Would love to have him but won't lose any sleep either way.
So now he knows what is in his heart but yet he doesn't care one way or another. Interesting logic.
Great point! Head and heart both played a part in my decision to attend Duke. You sure you weren't following your head just a bit?
The Carolina Way...they think everyone clamors to be them....and then they have the audacity to suggest others are arrogant.
I enjoyed this one from TPFKAPFS....it's a gem.
"We came very close to getting to the FF last year with just a few things breaking our way and we have been derailed by injuries other years as well wherein we could have won it all."
That's the equivalent of me saying that had we beat Mercer in 2014 we would have been in the Final Four. Btw, every team deals with hardships and injuries. It's not uncommon.
Good lord I can't wait to beat the cheaters two more times this year. Hopefully our football team takes back the Victory Bell as well.I enjoyed this one from TPFKAPFS....it's a gem.

Denn, that makes two of us.I am kind of at a loss for words with this comment
