The second one Chris Webber of Michigan called a timeout they didn't have which resulted in a technical foul and ended that game. It really pisses em off when you tell them that both of Dean's titles have an asterisk beside them.

That should be considered an even greater accomplishment by the hole fan base considering they are 0-2 against butler going back to the 12/13 season.

Dean made 11 Final Fours and only closed the deal twice, and as you mention in both cases his team was the beneficiary of arguably two of the most bone-headed plays in NCAA finals history.
But he was elite and a legend no doubt, no one is arguing that. These things are just parts of the picture, increased perspective.

Welp they've had sour grapes over there when it comes to duke quite regularly over the last 5-6 years.
If I recall when we beat a Butler team in 2010, didn't they lose to mighty Dayton in the NIT, and they were saying then that they had a harder schedule in the NIT than Duke had in their bracket even though we beat three top 25 teams
Dayton was a powerhouse that would probably would have won the NCAA if they had been invited.

You must not have been paying attention to the Hole fan base. After Coach K won his fifth, the tarholes acknowledged that Dean Smyth only had two. They highlighted the fact that Smyth only won two but only because he didn't care about championships. He was more about mentoring youths and turning them into fine young men.
Imagine if he truly cared about championships, he would have easily surpassed his cheating equal, Wooden.

I simply replied- last year Wisconsin was the top rated Big 10 team, we played them at their place and won. I then get lambasted saying that it was 3 out of the last 4 years that UNC has played the top Big 10 team and they won 2 of those 3. Not really sure why that is some badge of honor or not, but hey guys, have at it, I understand you need something. To the boardroom, President Barnes has the floor.

@UNC71-00 has gone on and one for months about Duke players allegedly taking classes at NC Central, and yet he has absolutely no proof that our players have actually taken classes there.
He spewed this nonsense on the national board for a long while. I pressed him for evidence, and he could never produce any.
I provided the following link to explain the interinstitutional program Duke participates in with UNC, Central, and State. I also pointed out that you could only take a class at another school if:
(1) the student's academic advisor and/or dean can certify that the course is appropriate for the student's degree program and that the course is not available during the same academic year at the home institution
and that
(2) undergrads can only take one course per term (Fall and Spring Semesters), provided that the student is also registered for the balance of his/her normal load at the home institution.
Despite such overwhelming evidence, that moron still contends that there is some scheme in place where Duke's basketball players remain eligible by only taking classes at Central. He's got no evidence to support his ridiculous accusations.
I would love for someone to respond to him with the above link. @timo0402, @dbav, @BOOGIEMAN1914? Can someone please quote his post asking about our players taking classes at Central and ask him what he thinks about this? Would love to see how he avoids these clear cut facts yet again.
