From some clown called dlew71:

"To be honest I could care less what other fan bases think either way - the media does get under my skin because most of it is uniformed trash
For me the justice of this run in the NCAAT is the example to the recruits who decided not to accept Coach's offer to join this group and build off of the current teams experience and perhaps build a new legacy of repeated success at a high level while working towards an education in conjunction with basketball

To all of those who chose not to join watch and weep as others gladly took what you did not want
Here's to finishing this year out with a title and coming back to the Final Four next year just to rub it in!"

Holes in the Final Four next year, huh? Lolll, maybe Final Four of the NIT.

I couldn't be more at peace with where Duke, as a program, stands....It doesn't mean I will ever root for UNC, but to say we are jealous or worried about their success or recognition is laughable....We have dominated the rivlary recently, which includes stealing a win this year when we had no business doing so....If they don't find a way to walk past Syracuse and beat whomever will be matched up with them in the finals, I am more worried about what will happen to their fanbase.....Oh wait, I am not worried at all, I will be laughing hysterically, popcorn in hand.

Ha, Gary spouting his "inside" information about Coach Capel: "Oh, he's a hellacious recruiter (and sketchy as a 3-dollar bill). Not much of a coach IYAM. And if what I've heard about him in AAU circles is true, he's as sketchy as ever." Some are actually asking him to elaborate on what he's talking about. Gary's response? Nothing but crickets (which are likely the only things resting between his two ears).

Gary is some kinda special. Obviously he is insinuating that Duke is landing all these huge recruits due to Capel and his "sketchiness." There is a main core of about 6-8 sickos over there.

Oh you mean the inside source that he will undoubtedly protect now that he has been asked for specific details regarding his "sketchy" implications.....The fact that people live to eat up his conclusive implications knowing that he won't/can't ever provide specific details is remarkable....The only specifics you will ever hear from that pathetic blow-hard is "sketchy" "dirty" "oily"......At least some have finally caught on and call him out from time to time.

Ironic given that the allure of going to UNC was basically, "Classes? What classes? All you're going to be expected to do is play ball..."

I know I post some really stupid things on this board and with the acception of dukiejay who always seems to have his crap together a lot of us can come up with some zinger quotes. But the folks over at thr seem to just feed off each other. They are beginning to be so bold that they are coming on this board with some classics. OFC

This was funny, in reference to Stephen A Smith: "Never been a huge fan but he just laid down the law on Gameday. Talked about k having a huge advantage by coaching the USA team. Then went on to tell em how Roy was questioned all the time, while other coaches were never microscoped. I love it. And Bilas just had to sit there and listen."

May be the best one evr. I would copy and paste but don't know how on my phone. Started a thread where he questions the solemnity of college basketball. It's priceless.

That board is imploding. I thought it would be funny to read what they're posting over there, but the majority of posts are sad/pathetic. I do love how ChapelHeeled is posting in all bold though.

From Gary, in the thread "my apologies". Honestly, I was crying with laughter:

"It's just not in me right now to do a Stats and stuff post. Of course, glancing at a few threads I'm sure there are a few folks who wouldn't like what I had to say right now anyway ;).

In all honestly, despite some great efforts by players on both teams in what turned out to be a thriller, these jaundiced eyes saw some things tonight that, frankly, made me question the state of what I once considered the greatest sport --- college basketball. And that's not the best frame from which to write an analytical post.

So for now all I can say to my fellow Carolina faithful is that I've never seen a group of guys more deserving of a National Championship than these Heels... and to see that taken away --- no matter the circumstances --- is gonna leave a mark. All we can do right about now is get some sleep and then take time to appreciate this team and coaching staff who (despite the squawking magpies in the media) did things right, and played the great game of basketball the way God and Dean Smith intended, and did the University and the Tar Heel Nation fan base proud.

At least that's what I'm gonna do. I'll be back with a wrap in a day... or two."

Priceless.

A lot, and I mean a lot, has been deleted over there. But what would you expect?
Yeah, and I noticed that numerous non-UNC fans that posted there, likely to troll, have had some of their posts turned into really offensive things by the mods. While I'm sure they don't appreciate the trolling after the loss, I'd expect a mod to have more civility than they are exhibiting. Just proves my point: just a group of pigs over there wallowing in the slop.

I knew Gary would be good for something great. And he will no doubt provide more. I think UNC fans have come to be defined by rationalization and being naive, but he is absolutely at another level.

DSouthr is always good for a laugh:

"For we old foggys, it is like going to bed with that poster of Farrah Fawcett and waking up to that poster being RoseAnn Barr is that red swimsuit..Oh the horror, my wet dream turning in to my greatest nightmare!

That is kinda what I see playing out for the fan bases of NC State, duke, and Ky. Their wet dream is we get taken down by the NCAA, their nightmare is that it does not happen and they just can not accept what they already know is coming. IT drives them nuts and it does because they so crave the national respect that we at least had and will earn back. But they just can not find a way to tap in to that love. Their collective envy drives over the top, they are obsessed, they feel this pain of our having what they crave to the extent I wonder if suicide alerts should come with the NCAA's final ruling?

Duke fans felt pretty good because they won it all last season but here we are again, yet again poised to steal their thunder, drives them nuts they will it all and we come right back and snatch away their bragging rights. Ky fans and duke fans see their team get all that crazy talent, more than we have had and yet here UNC is, on the verge of greatness yet again.

And as for NC State, actually who cares, no one cares, no one has reason to care, they are the punch line to a joke that IS FUNNY ! LOL."
I absolutely love this post but mr. dsouth. In my lifetime (40 years) Duke has been the more successful program in almost every single metric. There is not one ounce of envy from me and there should not be. Duke is a better program in my lifetime. It is not even close to debatable. I do give the blowhard an A for effort though. Enjoy that Roseanne Barr poster dsouth. You certainly deserve it.

Bask in this absolute gem from SeaHawk98 (in the exquisitely titled "Nova Played Tackle, UNC Could Not Play Touch" thread):

"Great game by Nova. My issues are this:
1 - If you allow Nova to hand check, grab and play physical, you can't call ticky tack on UNC. They did
2 - Nova traveled about 10 times. You can't allow that. If they call half of those = game changer.
3 - Jackson clearly fouled at end of 1st half with no call. Nova goes back and scores on other end. Lead at half should have been 9 instead of 5 = game changer.
4 - Two of worst calls were on Meeks. He dove for a loose ball, called for a foul. NEVER CALLED. He was grabbed a loose ball along with a Nova player, he got called for a foul and not a jump ball. Same think happened on other end a few possessions later, jump ball.

Anyone that says that officiating doesn't decide games is full of it. Bad calls went 80 / 20, 70/30 minimum in Nova's favor. If officiating is even a tiny bit better, UNC wins and wins easily. Biggest screw job in the history. Conspiracy or not, NCAA was behind this. We are even now NCAA, no sanctions are allowed."

If they consider the officiating that much in Nova favor it was more like 60-40 cryolina favor. I've NEVER watched a game and thought Carolina didn't benefit from a few and I don't think anyone else has either outside of chapel hill

This UNC group won a single ACC Tourney, went 2-6 against Duke & 90% of THR flat out abanded them after Duke loss in Feb. Why are they so deserving of national title?

New thread titled "I'm thankful that:"...

First post... "We have Marcus Paige and NOT Grayson Allen!"

https://northcarolina.forums.rivals.com/threads/im-thankful-that.36777/

I guess this makes perfect sense considering Grayson was huge in helping us win a championship last year and Marcus couldn't help get the Cheaters one this year.

@DevilDJ posted this in another thread, but it's just too perfect not to post again:

Cheat fans complaint about refs as usual:rolleyes:

I agree 100%. I take nothing away from Jenkins, Villanova and both teams hustle. Carolina played 5 against 8 for most of the night. You know it is obvious when even Duke fans admit it (friends on facebook). People can believe what they want too. I choose to believe the NCAA did not want UNC to win the championship and they did all they could to make sure they did not win. Those refs called the game like their only job experience was Saturday morning at the YMCA. Just to blatant not to be laid a the hands of the NCAA. I hate it for Paige, Johnson and James.

I thank each of them for being Tar Heels.

One of their resident idiots, keysersosay:

"Rips your guts out... Nothing left to say. BTW the dbags in DERM are LOVING it .... remember that well when those royal aholes play anybody.. They are SCUM!!! and so is their lying sack of dung coach."

As if they wouldn't be basking in our misery if it was Duke that had lost like that.
