That's a favorite of mine. But it's a bit overused. You seem to be on the tail end of the meme/gif usage game.
Of course K is going to say what he said. It wouldn't do much for recruiting if he came out and said, "I don't really like having players for only one year and I'm able to develop much closer relationships with guys that stay 3-4 years, but it is what it is." I agree that he'd rather have them for one year than not at all though. And he's done a good job of adapting to it. But you're a damn fool if you think K would prefer the current OAD culture to the days when players stayed 3-4 years. That just goes against all logic. It makes his job harder. Why on earth would he want it that way?
Great. You should be happy with that. You'd think fans of a program that has accomplished so much wouldn't feel the need to prop themselves up as much as y'all do. Sometimes I wonder if I stumbled onto Rupp Rafters with all the insecurity around here.
But don't cry for me or Roy. We're doing fine. #ButWe'reDoingFiner

Edit - As I look at this again, I acknowledge it seems pretty harsh. I'll modify a little.
Who the hell is arguing that point? The question is not whether he would prefer the days when Grant Hill stayed four years. The question is what kind of guys does he want to get today, in 2016. He understands the current structure, and the irrelevance of the expectations for guys he recruited in the late 1980's. Being nostalgic doesn't hang banners. Today, if you are going to get truly elite guys, you have to not only be okay with having them short-term, but also have the skills to maximize them during that time. K does that. My comments were exclusively about present relevance.
P.S. - I'm not going to do a full point-by-point rebuttal like you tend to. You don't make enough salient points to warrant that.
Damn, there's that insecurity rearing its ugly head again.
It's a good thing. I was about to get really mad.
Full disclosure: it wasn't completely about your feelings. At some point you realize there isn't a lot to prove there:

Good lord, @carolinablue34 joking about killing Coach K. Just when you thought you had seen it all. How utterly despicable.
We don't need a THR apologist to explain away the idiocy of your fellow UNC fans. And joking about killing someone is pathetic no matter how you slice it. Get lost with that nonsense.![]()
I doubt they really think Coach K is a vampire either. So the whole "driving a wooden stake through the heart" thing should be taken as a joke.
And now he's joking about murdering our coach. This turd really outed himself royally these past few weeks. At the time I was still relatively unaware of the current culture of thr. But even then, no one's really fixated on duke all the much.
Mark they are just trying to be funny, just imagine a picture of said turd wearing a bowtie which would look really funny. And now he's joking about murdering our coach. This turd really outed himself royally these past few weeks.

Oh we were just joking . . . about killing your coach. Uhhhhh . . . what?
I honestly don't know what's worse, the initial comment or the subsequent rationalization.
He's certainly received a generous amount of leeway while consistently trolling this board for the past several weeks. I doubt I'm the only one who would love to see a mod take out the trash at this point.Wow, this thread went south, Mark and some douche from THR having meme fights. I guess that's what dickslinger was trying to accomplish though.
I got banned from THR today for correcting DSouthr who claimed that Tony Bradley won the 3-point contest. There was a flurry of responses and I even admitted that I didn't want to hijack the thread and I also admitted that correcting people is rather douchey thing to do so I promised to not do that anymore (apparently facts are a sore spot at THR). But alas too late - I had overstepped my bounds.
The first time that I got banned, it was because I gave my opinion in a nice way when they were attacking Coach K for giving Mason Plumlee a big bear hug after a monster dunk his Senior season. That's what they do, they ban almost anyone that disagrees with anything they say.
I love that he threw around his post count and average length to substantiate his logic. You'd think with that much time writing, he'd be better at spelling.I got banned from THR today for correcting DSouthr who claimed that Tony Bradley won the 3-point contest. True, I probably shouldn't have gone back over there and posted. It was kind of an unexpected surprise when I found out that I had been unbanned over at THR after Rivals switched to the new format because I had forgotten to log out before I went over there then I let my temper get the best of me when I posted on a thread, at least the second time I got banned it was for something that was ban worthy unlike the first time where IMO the post that I made wasn't anything that was ban worthy. Like you said, they'll ban Duke fans for any and every reason they choose no matter what any Duke fan says in a post over there but they get shown a lot more leniency over here without getting banned over here which I think is the most ironic thing. With all due respect you got banned, got unbanned and went back for more. Why.. Sooner or later if you are a Duke fan you will get banned when you post there and for many you get banned for what you post here. Don't give them the pleasure. OFC
I'll have to double just wow that one.Courtesy of @soap-newandimproved:
"Maye was pretty much 'an instant rebound' in almost every game I saw him play last season."
That 1.6 rebound per game average certainly screams "instant rebound" to me.
