Did you guys see where dsouther has made his last post over at thr? Seems like he and billyl have some sort of problem with each other. I know we've had posters who have left because some one didn't agree with them or maybe some hurt feelings. Some times it's best just to not respond if it gets to heavy. It's just me I know. I can't stand contention. I try to avoid it and if you knew me personally you would say that's right. I'm a little bold sometimes on hear because I can say things without a personal confrontation but still with that said I hope I never insult or degrade any of you. Life is way to short for something like a sports message board to to affect people in a negative way that bridges are burned and grudges held for people you have never even met. There. I've had my say. OFC

That dude is wildly sensitive. Every time I engaged in discourse with him he would get super pissy, exaggerate and distort my statements, and hurl around several ad-hominem attacks and sophomoric retorts.

Disagreeing with him is akin to disagreeing with logic and facts, because he evidently invented both. The previous sentence is something very similar to some of DSouthr's rebuttals - nonsensical thoughts that are being shoved off as truth.

I saw that with the moron DSouthr. He is all upset and whiny even though he started the crap, and then insists that he did not. What a fool.

Check out gary in this one. They offered some 3 star and he, with his other worldly coaching and scouting knowledge, goes on and on about why he is actually a big time talent. Roy has an eye for talent like no other. The rest of the coaches simply haven't evaluated him like Roy has and don't have the eye for talent like Roy does. Lol.

" I am gonna use the 2011 class as an example at random. Let's say UNC brought in this hypothetical 5 man recruiting class....

Trey Burke #84 in ESPN 100
Ryan Boatright #74 ESPN 100
Malcolm Brogdon #73 ESPN 100
Johnny O Bryant #46 ESPN 100
Cody Zeller #14 ESPN 100

By the time these guys are sophs this 5 would of been title contenders. But because of their rankings Dookies and UK fans alike would of bragged about Dakari Johnson and the Harrison twins , Austin Rivers and so on..... Simply because of rankings!" (Spacegrass)

I signed out of my account at THR to see the fuss about my old buddy, DSouthr. But I came across this gem in the thread that Kellen mentioned. Some UNC fans are worried about the perceived less-talented big men they're pursuing like Nate Watson and Isaiah Stokes, who are ranked outside of the top 70 by most recruiting services. Glad Spacegrass was there to save the day and talk some sense into everyone; he mentioned that many players outside of the top 70 turn out to be superstars in college.

While I don't necessarily disagree with the sentiment, I find it awfully convenient that he chose the three best players ranked outside of the top 70 from 2011 - Burke (NPOY), Boatright (National Champion), and Brodgdon (2x All-American). What if you get the players ranked right above and below these players? Fortunately for Spacegrass, his argument works because the likes of Antwan Space, Carlton Brundidge, Joseph Uchebo, and Kedren Johnson are names that will echo throughout the history of their respective schools.

Fun fact: All four of those players transferred.

Isaiah Stokes recently shattered a backboard. Impressive strength for sure. But the way he runs the floor is killing me. Very awkward looking. Would love to see four years of that!

On THR they have set up a circumstance where you have to be a Gary-level sunshine pumper or you are not just discouraged, you are berated. I can see where that would be very unappealing for a lot of posters (or "poasters" in their case).

Let's all say nice things to DSouthr because he is evidently going through a very hard time. My condolences, Dave-O. Here are a few tid-bits from his short-story:

"I have always tried to post as if we were all in a bar together and to be totally frank, it is a very good thing Billy was not in a bar with me yesterday because I took and continue to take the issue I have with him EXTREMELY SERIOUS!"

"I don't know if I will be back posting here, it was not my intent to post this or anything further."

He almost lasted 21 hours. Kudos. That's a long time for someone like him to be muzzled.
You ruined it for me. If I hadn't read this I wouldn't have known the over cashed. I'll still go over there but now I know the ending.

21 hours is pretty good although it seemed a whole lot shorter than that. Maybe it's because it took me so long to read his farewell post to reading his homecoming post. I have to admit that his farewell is the only post of his I've ever read entirely but I still had to take a couple of pee breaks. It happens when you become an old fart and you don't pass up opportunity's to drizzle the porcelain. :) OFC

Given the meltdown over there initiated by @DSouthr, his post from earlier in the week is pretty ironic:

"You prove with every word how silly and and petty you can be. Grown man that has to revert to hash tag nonsense, what are you 12?

Their mods are now strictly monitoring the content on their ootb board and threatening to close the board completely.Thank god that they do not have any real power because free speech would be a thing of the past

Archer, lol. Those dolts just can't get over the fact that they don't get elite talent. Ha haaa.

"I say this to every dook fan who tries to come here and sell the OADU system that Cal and K have adopted. If you like having OAD's go in and out the door every year, fine. Then K's approach is perfect for you. When you take the court with the best talent every year, it does give you a chance to win the title every year.

But I prefers Roy's method of building the team on 4* players, with 3* role players and the occasional 5* sprinkled in. It doesn't give you a chance to win the title every year, but you can count on a serious run every 3-4 years and very solid teams in between. I prefer watching players develop over 3-4 years to the OAD wonders. I prefer Brice Johnson and Marcus Paige, four year guys, to Jones and Ingram. It seems to astound dook fans when I say this and I'm not quite sure why. But the bottom line is, I like our approach and I assume you like your coach's approach.

Fair enough?"

The spelling of Duke as "dook" is just soooo damn witty over there. Morons. Haaaa.

Dope gary responding to Archer's post...

"Arch, I'll only add one modification (IMO) --- Roy's approach actually gives us a chance nearly every year as long as there isn't an unforeseen gap that bites us in a given season (like losing PJ or the Drew/Wears debacle). Otherwise Roy will regularly field a team in March that can beat anyone they play and with some breaks can make a nice run, and yeah, every few years take it all the way. In other words Mercer Bears don't tend to bite us so much ;).

On a related note, last season I felt pretty danged good in March --- not just because we were peaking --- but because I laughed at the media nonsense that UK was somehow the team to watch (and Calipari's bluster was comical as well). I believe I posted on here that UK had no chance of a Final Four run, much less a Natty, especially when they put them in our bracket. I didn't think they would get past Indiana and if they did we would have trounced them just like we did Indy.

dook's flame-out was nearly as predictable. Now granted the Rat has an impressive combo of talent over there coming up this season, with a mix of veterans and elite frosh, and I'm sure they will be a force to reckon with. But I still wouldn't bet on UK's chances despite their sick freshman class. Of course the most important note is, meanwhile in Chapel Hill, our veteran crew of Burger Boys and friends will take a back seat to no one."

You know if they all did start poasting here we could say what we wanted to say to them without their mods being able to ban us off DI although they probably would feel they have the entitlement to do so. OFC

Archer in a thread asking if Popovich will put Roy on his Team USA staff. He always uses his witty little LOM, "Leader of Men", when referring to K. Such a clever fella.

"Well, he's certainly deserving of the opportunity. And I doubt you'll ever see another coach monopolize the position the way the LOM has. Just poor form, IMO. It's an honor that should be passed from coach to coach. But the recruiting advantages are obvious and the LOM wanted to milk that advantage for all it was worth. Of course Mike has always been about MIke, first and foremost."
