Not sure if this has been announced here, but Mike and Mike just broke the story that Favre has told Mike McCarthy he is retiring. This conversation apparently occurred quickly after Randy Moss signed a new deal.
Are you really suggesting that Rogers=Favre? While he played pretty good in his few minutes on the field, I don't really see him being quite as prolific as number 4. But, I've been wrong before.
Green Bay has the youngest team in the NFL, and the one missing piece is a young quarterback. Aaron Rodgers showed that he can move the offense in last year's Dallas cowboys game.
Favre had a great season, but you could see him growing old in the fourth quarter and in overtime in the championship game. He needs to retire, enjoy his free box seat at Lambeau, and go home and putter around on his farm outside Hattiesburg.
I don't think it had alot to do with Randy Moss. It had more to do with what his wife and family wanted him to do. Brett had set every record known to man. He already accomplished MVP and super bowl honors.
What was left for the man to do??
Either way he was my favorite player ever to play the game. I dont know any of my friends who were not a Brett fan. The guy was one of the hardest workers to play the game and I have the utmost respect for whatever decision he made.
I just went from being a Packers fan to not really a Packers fan anymore. Now I know why.
