anyone else besides me want to see what he can do now? After the tenth 3 n out tonight I was ready to see Favre. It's not like Relf has been getting rushing yards.

But the fact that Mullen clearly views him as #3, means he ain't ready. Maybe we will get up by enough at some point this year to see him

Given how poorly our WRs have performed in the clutch, and based on the spring game and practice, Favre's penchant for hurling interceptions, I think playing lil' Brett might have guaranteed the Indian trailer park spirits their vengeance tonight.

Negative, what we needed was some consistent and thoughtful play calling...not an inexperienced quarterback.

for overtime with a minute and a half left and only 30 yds to go to get in field goal range ? He`s told the wholeworld that Relf has a problem and every DC will know what to do from here out....hell yes I`m ready to see Favre.</p>

Um I'm not sure what the 17 you have been watching but Dylan in ALL the bowl practices/scrimmages looked nice. If i'm not mistaken he wore Tyler's *** out at the spring game too. I have watched them go toe-to-toe at least 6 times. Tyler beat him once out of 6. Now I don't know if Dylan winning was part of him "adlibbing" the offense but he has smoked Tyler's *** everytime I've seen them vs each other. I'm not sure why Mullen hasn't played him especially after tonight's performance by a dual threat QB that has been force to stay in his weaker dimmension.

then they really should return the money their university is paying them. Relf cannot pass the ball over 10 yards with any sort of touch or accuracy with the exception of 1-2 times per game. Last year he missed receivers by 10 yards when he tried to go deep. He has improved to missing guys by 5 yards this year but that still doesn't mean ****.

With the exception of the final pass of the game, he looked like absolute *** both running the ball and passing the ball tonight. I agree that the O-line play is killing him but from the first play of the game, he seemed to be off. Even the look in his eyes and his attitude seemed completely lackadaisical. He seemed very timid running the ball and did not have many runs where he seemed to bull or push forward.

It was a weird night and we were damn lucky to get a W out of it.

it was only because Russell apparently tweaked his knee or something against LSU. The announcers said something about a minor knee injury was what put Favre at #2 this week.

I knew there would be some major threads on that if it had been announced at some point this week...

And i question your football IQ for even mentioning it. damn when will yall realize that farve got on this team as a pr move. Mullen was in the middle of talking up the "recruit Mississippi" talk and couldnt pass on the 5'6" qb without ole miss using it against him. thats it. Relf QB, 2 years. redshirt TR and QB for 2 years, redshirt dak and QB for 2 years. how are yall missing this. its what every good college with good QB's do. I know its not what we are use to at MSU, but thats the norm for the rest of the damn country!

All you dumb 17ers keep saying Favre was awesome in the spring. Really? Did the coaches miss all that "awesomeness"? No they didn't. He will never play. And if he does, we are absolutely 17ed. If his last name was Smith, we'd be calling him Tyson Lee 2.0.<div>
</div><div>I see our QB situation like this: Relf can run. That's it. When we are on schedule he's okay. If we have to throw, Russell is our only option (which is why they threw him in there against LSU) but we lose the threat of the run we have with Relf. Who knows what we have in Prescott. Barring injury we'll find out in 2014.</div><div>
</div><div>Favre is a joke. His most valuable contribution is sending in signals.</div>

Really? You think we're good enough that we can just play with schollies and hand em around as we please? No one 17ing said Favre was the savior but Jesus Christ, some of you need a new argument besides the height ****. Oh, and by the way, T Lee sucked. Not because of his height, he just sucked period.</p>

Yes he wasted a scholly on him. he was a parade all-American from MS, could Mullen afford to ignore him and get the bad pr from ole miss? nope, it played into the recruiting game. its not that hard to see if you could pull your head out of your ***. lets just say we didnt waste one on him, what position would have been made better and generated more exposure and talk? come on man, relf had passes batted down by LSU and you probably wanted farve in then, use your head.

negative PR from Ole Miss? Let me write that one down. That's a new one. You know, since he's been known to care so much about what they think and all. I get it dude. You think Favre's too short and not SEC material. You may be right. I'm simply reserving judgement until I see him with my own eyes prove it especially after watching a senior QB miss wide open targets all night.

when no others gave him a look. how many threads on this site have been about signing players with no good offers yet everyone thinks farve should get some pass? if the coaching staff was serious about him beingour QB, would he been on the punt return team? serious question? I agree with relf not being the greatest, but I had more problems with play calling tonight than I did relf's play

I don't know enough about college football to know whether Favre can overcome his vertical challenges. But I know southern was the only school to act like they actually wanted him and Mullen was only interested after striking out on several other qb prospects. I hope he proves Mullen wrong, but I suspect there was a reason he was low on Mullen's list, and it's probably b/c it;s hard as **** to play qb in the SEC at 5'9". I'm much more optimistic about Russel playing than Favre, although the fact that there's even a question of whether favre will get to play tells me there must be a hell of afootball player trapped in that soccer player's body.

81 TDs his senior year. He knows how to win, give him a chance at least. Russell has been given plenty of chances.

What the hell makes you think a 5' 10" freshman can? The QB is not the root problem, that's fairly obvious. Try looking at the blockers.

</div><div>He knows how to win? He knows how to 17ing win? You have to be kidding me. What the 17 does that even mean?</div><div>
</div><div>As opposed to the other QBs who obviously don't know how to win. Well by all means, let's get the guy who knows how to win in there. Oh wait, every 17ing person knows how to win. You just score more points than the 17ers in the other color shirts.</div><div>

Hopefully Relf will straighten up, but if not we will see if he gets a chance I suppose.
