MSU, UGA, La. Tech & Fresno State.

Am I missing any? Strange that all will be playing Mississippi schools Saturday night.

Edit to add FBS football schools.

When we played AU or LSU, the trivia question was what is the most common mascot which was tigers with 5 and bulldogs was second with 4.

Side note & totally unimportant, all 4 of the 5 schools with Tigers are in the southeast (LSU, AU, Clempson, & Memphis. Missouri is the other one). Same pattern with bulldogs with Fresno State being the only non southeast school. Not sure if that qualifies as interesting, either.

Edit to include Mizzou in the tigers list. Thanks Lawson

When is the last time (prior to our schedule this year) an FBS school opened their schedule playing three teams with the same mascot?

if they're D-I (are we counting I-AA FCS as D-I?). They're also the most random university someone thought I attended when I wore my "Bulldogs" shirt to work.

Mississippi State isn't playing a Mississippi school.

Although I guess I can see us beating ourselves again this year.

Yale. I know they call themselves "Eli's" but officially they are the Yale Bulldogs. Also isn't one of the SWAC schools in Alabama Bulldogs too?

Though I may have muddied the water by using the term "D-1". I was actually thinking of D-1 in terms of basketball and teams that could advance to the Big Dance, whatever that term should be.

Add Yale to that list too. Wikipedia is for cheaters.

Where Croom's dad played football. They are also Maroon and White. Zip code: 35762.

They also don't have a great winning tradition. Not sure if they have an Indian mound.
