9 Bama (SEC runs continues--committee correctly didn't penalize Bama for splitting with Georgia--CCGs still need eliminated)
10 Miami (shocked but thrilled)

Matchups
12 James Madison at 5 Oregon (Texas Tech)--great draw for Oregon
9 Alabama at 8 Oklahoma (Indiana)--not ideal for Indiana

11 Tulane at 6 Ole Miss (Georgia)
10 Miami at 7 Texas A&M (Ohio State)--A&M/Ohio State would be great

24 team playoff is coming within 5 years after this
Leaving out Texas, Vandy and Notre Dame will get them on board with the Big Ten's plan

The corrupt Good 'Ole Boys outdo themselves yet again - we were supposed to go to a 16-team Playoff this year, but were told it wasn't necessary. Why on earth you wouldn't just go to a 16-team Field rather than have corrupt, self-interested, biased "CFP Rankers" eliminate 4 deserving teams is just ridiculous. Only the laughable world of corrupt, biased CFB could not see this coming by going with a SILLY 12-team "selection criteria" rather than just go to a fully fielded 16-Team Field.

No team that missed the playoffs is “worthy”. Teams that missed might have an argument compared to other unworthy teams that made it but it’s not like some 15th best team deserves to have a shot at winning an MNC.

8 teams would be more than enough to make sure all “worthy” teams get in

Alabama got blown out by Florida State. Alabama got blown out by Georgia. Notre Dame is better than Alabama by a mile.
Bama also beat Georgia in Athens...does ND have a comparable win?
FSU is a top 30 power team so I agree it's an awful loss but the data doesn't support that
Ultimately CCGs need to be eliminated and the playoff needs to start sooner.

Head-To-Head results didn't seem to matter when Ohio State got in the playoff ahead of Penn State years back. Which was even more amazing since Penn State was the conference champion. But I guess head-to-head matters now?

They just explained that--H2H is only relevant when considered comparable
Ohio State was significantly ahead of us. We had 2 bad losses. They lost to a top 5 team on what the experts saw as a fluke
We should have been in over Washington but Ohio State vs Penn State was never discussed or debated
See Ohio State being #2--they don't care about conference titles as much as resume--never have

Bama is schizo - they have a lot more impressive wins than Notre Dame and Miami (FL) but also some worse looking losses. That being said, I think there’s an argument for all of them to some degree so any decision had done would have right and wrong points

I was wondering if they might include both Bama and BYU to really drive home the “you won’t be penalized by losing a CCG” point

I think they let Miami in because they didn't want to ACC to get shut out. If UVA would have won, then I'd expect Notre Dame and Miami to get in. But we're headed for a 16 team playoff, no CCG. Notre Dame getting shut out gets that done. Alabama getting in after that CCG performance lets everyone know that the CCGs are mostly irrelevant.

agree King. They can still schedule Navy, Army, etc.

ND will soon say,"OK,we will join a conference if that is what it takes, as long as it is not the BIG10 or the SEC. We will join the little sister conference, the ACC. We already know how to get to these places since we play most of them anyway along with army and navy. " That should it!!!

In the last two weeks, Alabama squeaked by a bad Auburn team, and got blown out by Georgia. In that same time, Notre Dame played one game and blew out Stanford. Those results ended with Alabama moving ahead of Notre Dame
