Exactly. So the fact that the two cities are less than 2 hrs apart means absolutely nothing.

They don't/won't draw from each other's fan base.
Damn, when you talk $$, it's TV, not attendance. That's where it is in the long run & CIncy/Col will cannibalize each other there. It's thinking about tomorrow, not today.

You originally said the biggest problem with Cinci getting a team is that it would "split up the fan bases" which implies attendance.

Also, they're in completely different TV markets so TV money wouldn't be affected. The MLS isn't specifically going to the biggest markets - look at Columbus, Kansas City, Portland, Orlando, and Vancouver. No teams in Phoenix, Detroit or Tampa. We're talking a national sports league expanding here, not the Big 12 conference. It's a national TV deal, not regional.

Not sure who runs the other teams in the league but the FCC group has some experience with the Bengals and other major league sports. I've heard the move to MLS is a matter of time, probably after St. Louis.

Announced today....Crystal Palace to play FC Cincinnati in a friendly this July. Only USL team they are playing on tour.

You got to give it up to the ownership of FCC, they are leaps and bounds ahead of Louisville in just a very short time.

Was just coming here to post this.... AMAZING.... I mean is Crystal Palace great? Not really...but its still a BPL team... They came in 15th and have some pretty good players in Cabaye, Adebayor and Bolasie

Bengals attendance has been very, very good for the last 6+ years.

None of that matters because the FC Cincy crowd is a whole different group of people. There is a sizable young, soccer crazed portion of the population in Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky that this caters to perfectly.

This is a situation of right time, right place and I only see it growing with the money and marketing being put behind it.

The Reds rebuilding can't hurt, either.
Bengals attendance has been good for over 25 years and rather remarkable in the lost decade. Just not great or even remotely in the same ballpark as the leaders.
