At a holiday party this year, a Pitt fan told me — with a completely straight face — “We’re hearing Narduzzi turned down the Pinstripe because there’s nothing to gain by beating Penn State.”
Seriously.
Seriously.

No way anyone believes that…Pitt gets more out of beating PSU than anyone else.
It's comforting to know that Pitt will always be down there.
This is true but Pitt wouldn’t have beaten PSU so it’s a moot point.
Without knowing if this has any credibility, I would say BS. If ever there was an opportunity for Pitt in terms of recruiting and bragging rights, this was it.
They were pathetic against an ECU team that played without its starting qb. As is typical of Pitt, they ended up losing three of their last four games. As a program, they’re on a level of a really good MAC school, and that might be pushing it.
Of course we had an easier opponent since Clemson is from the ACC.
Ha. It’s pure Pitt Fan Fiction. And as amusing as it was to hear in real time, the loss to ECU just makes it that much more delicious.
Is this Pitt dude someone you have in your phone? Someone you could text? Arrogance deserves a smackdown.
Delete the contact, block the number. For f*ck’s sake.
The hapless pitters lost to the fifth best team in the American Conference. The pitters are pathetic. At least Narduzzi is consistent. He loses his team near the end of every season.
Would have been worse but a phantom whistle cost ECU a TD and then they gave up a fumble for a TD next play,
If you give Narduzzi time, he can lose to anybody in a bowl; he’s now 2-8 in bowls and let’s just say that Pitt usually doesn’t play the best competition in most of their bowl games. With that said, that ECU team, even without their starting qb, just was better than Pitt.
Remember Glov always posting that after a Pirates win...
sPitt did not win their bowl game, but they did claim their 439th National Championship.
Congrats to those sPitters!
Congrats to those sPitters!
I’ve got their tally at 443. Are you not counting the ones from 88 to 85 BC when Thrace had their titles stripped for using ineligible players who had played semi pro ball for the Visigoths?
Maybe they can get the Geneva coach if he wants it
that is so... October.
Pitt is always way behind us.
ECUs top rusher, PSU transfer London Montgomery didn’t even play as the went home for Christmas and never came back
I wish they still had a Pitt call in show. Was always worth some laughs.
