I had a call from an MSU grad today who has an associate in his firm who has a daughter who sells real estate in Oxford and she called him and told him Mrs. Fedora was there today looking at homes. I have no idea if the source is accurate but the MSU guy would no usually put this out unless it is true. I for one, think Hugh Freeze would be their choice but who knows. If Fedora bolts for the plantation, the buzzards are going to go ape ****.

And taking Melvin Smith with him.

Kindof a threesome thing going on.

They'll just spin it like they do everything else. I had one tell me it would be funny if they hired him because that would be them admitting that "USM is better than them". Seriously, there are many fanbases I hate more (mainly because they are actually worth hating), but there is NO fanbase in America that is more delusional about their program and who they really are. It's actually kind of sad.

Yep, we are delusional. Of course some people think beating a 2 win OM team this year gave them the state championship and of course that isn't delusional. Also, last night USM athletes swept the 2011 major men's athlete player awards in sweeping the Howell, Ferriss and Conerly awards. Of course USM fans are delusional in thinking they actually have good athletes.

Calling it a championship is kind of cheesy, but in order for MSU to have consistent success, it has to be the premier football program in Mississippi. As bad as Ole Miss is, beating Ole Miss is what's necessary for MSU to be recognized as the premier program.

Even though Southern Miss undoubtedly does a good job with its football program (probably fair to say its been run better than State or Ole Miss over the years), it really doesn't matter. If USM runs the table in the CUSA one year, that could change, but otherwise, the reality is that the difference between the SEC and CUSA is growing and as long as MSU consistently goes to bowls while playing in the SEC, USM is not relevant to what MSU needs to do.

I will tell you who we are at this moment. The #24 team in the country and that in itself just gets under yalls skin. We know you dogs and Rebs WANT us to be irrelevant but apparently those who really know and vote don,t think so. I have never seen a group who so badly wants USM to be irrelevant. Congrats on 2 bowl games back to back.

I made this point the other day. Under Mullen, because I'm sure Croom had a hard time convincing guys to come get raped every year instead of going to USM where you'll consistently win 6 to 8 games, how many players on Mississippi State's roster had offers to play for USM? I'd say it's a pretty high percent. How many players on USM's roster had offers to play for us? Not many, I'd say less than 5, if any. I know Lampley was close to getting an offer and didn't and went there and has been a beast, but it proves my point... he didn't have an offer from us.

That, by definition, makes USM irrelevant. The fact that anyone we compete with them for comes here with little thought or convincing. There's one guy right now that's committed to them with an offer from us, and with the amount of commits we have and the fact he's a 2-star, I doubt he's able to commit to the offer right now.

That's just football. I love how not a single USM fan will bring up basketball or any other sport outside of baseball (recently) and football. Last year's regular season was slightly above mediocre, maybe even mediocre, and we swept USM and went to a super. Their basketball team has been to the post-season once in school history and their baseball facilities rival Gulfport High's... that speaks volumes to the coaching staff they've had down there. But make no mistake, without the dumpster fire in Starkville they wouldn't have the success they're having now down there. So they can make a [stupid] case that they have the best football team in the state of Mississippi, but their athletic department as a whole is a notch above Jackson State's.

That naïve? Those voters vote based on record. So you are telling me you could have a better record against our schedule than we did? I call ********, out of the two teams we both played this year you lost to the worst. So forgive me if I don't believe you could have beat USCe AU UA LSU ARK & UGA if you believe you could e have then yes, you are delusional. Especially after getting embarrassed by UAB.

1 good season in a ****** conference does not mean you are relevant to anybody .... but yourselves. I usually pull for your shittty school and athletic program to do good even though you are a joke. But, this time I hope Houston stomps the **** out of you. Take your ten fans and stop being so @@@!#!% annoying. You are like a gnat that will not go away.

1) Oooh....#24. We finished #15 in the country last year - so uh, congrats I guess.
2) Enjoy going to Birmingham after Houston stomps a mud puddle in your *** and walks it dry.

SEC vs. cusa - 3 BCS teams vs 4 teams with winning records. Congrats on squeaking by that 6-6 Marshall squad to win your division. That's totally commendable.

Congrats to USM for finally passing Delta State in the number of Conerlys won by your school.

Vegas would still have us as a 10 point favorite at your Rock and a 17 point favorite in Starkville. Don't kid yourself into thinking that #24 ranking means people across the country think you're the best team in the state. That's simply a product of your great record against **** teams.

Houston is undefeated and still the 5th or 6th most talked about team in the city where they reside.

USM beat an 8-4 Virginia team this year. What win does MSU have that can match that this year? I agree you have losses against far better teams, but in terms of the best win, USM has the best win. If by some miracle USM can beat Houston this Saturday, well that will be a nice win. I don't expect it to happen though. Keenum is probably going to light us up.

The ACC has 2 ranked teams. And only 4 teams have winning records. Spare me. If you want to go that route though, Virginia vs. Mississippi State in the Music City... what margin of victory would it take to make you shut the 17 up?
