It feels good that we won but.....man.....I just feel sorry for them to be honest. Why did we have to be the ones to put the final nail in the coffin?

This game may be the very thing that shakes the situation enough to force admins/fans to provide what is needed for improvement.....

If they can get by Alcorn State next week (gosh I hope so for their sakes), and can stand the beating Saban puts on them after that, they at least have an easy C-USA schedule to look forward to the rest of the year. Then again, Marshall hung 61 on them last season...

You give yourself too much credit

I think people (including our own fans) fail to fully comprehend how bad we really were last year. I had a friend who thought I was exaggerating how bad we were. I made him watch the ECU game last year and he understood. We were one half from going down as the worst team in D1 history.

If losing to North Texas 55-14 on your Homecoming--sandwiched between a 55-14 lost to ECU and a 61-13 loss to Marshall--isn't the nail in the coffin, I don't know what is.

Ya'll have a good team...but I can assure you, this wasn't anything we haven't seen before. Most of our fans are pretty numb to this. When your team loses 49-0 and you think, "That went exactly how I expected it would go," that says a lot.

I work with a bunch of USM alumni that I consider friends and good people. Hate to see USM down like this, and I believe this loss will really really REALLY hit home and open the eyes for a lot of casual USM fans to how bad things have gotten for their football program. I know football isn't the end all be all, but I hate to see all the long faces from the USM folks that I know. It's one thing to get skull drug by a team 2 time zones away that no one in Mississippi cares about, and another thing to get thoroughly embarrassed by big brother in front of the whole state. I hope USM can turn things around, but I AM glad it wasn't at MSU's expense tonight.
