Feel much better about the team after yesterday.

Despite the loss they looked better coached, better prepared and had a little confidence back. Nobody has stopped LSUs offense and those two receivers are ridiculous.

The only thing that bothered me was HOW wide open they were

When a catch is made 20 yards downfield and no defenders are on the television screen, it's a problem.

Yeah our CB play was terrible last night. As a matter of fact, probably the worst I've ever seen it. The only thing that makes me feel a little bit better is I don't think we will play another team with as talented receivers. However, A&M, Ole Miss and Alabama are not bad.

Safety play was pretty bad too. How long are they going to be out with all those broken ankles.

We definitely had a more aggressive and fired up attitude overall. I will applaud that issue. It was dead in the 4th quarter of course.

I thought we played well and with a few breaks could have won the game. I feel great about our chances of bowling this year and building on it for next year when the schedule sets up better.

We are a better team than ole miss. Period.

Forgive me for having to ask but is this what a moral victory thread looks like

This is also a thread that at least tries to mention a few positives from the game. There had to be something you thought was better about the team or at least good.

It puzzles me how some just become obsessed with a single coach like that (Coach34 ring a bell). Probably a glimpse into what their real, personal life is like.

I know that couldn't have helped.

I don't think he was 100% to start with. I think last night was a good wake up call for our young secondary. Landry and Beckham run routes better than everyone I've seen in the sec. There were several times when we had them covered well and they just went up and got the ball. I'm really hoping redmond's return moves cox to safety. Nickoe just isn't good. He'll never be the player he was pre-injury. We can't hide him anymore and with aTm, bama, and OM's wr's, we can't keep playing him.

Wrong, I don`t care if it`s Mullen (or anybody else getting paid roughly a quarter of a million dollars a game)that puts a respectable MSU football team on the field. I just want to see it done. FYI respectable = well coached. well prepared with mid tier SEC talent that can compete with anyone on a given Saturday and OCCASIONALLY, through out coaching and out playing a superior team pulls an upset. I feel we are very close to having mid-tier talent but we have basically displayed none of the rest and seem to have topped out with this particular coach. I have no more personal animosity for Mullen than I did for Croom or Felker or fill-in-the-blank other bad hire we`ve made. I don`t think I can explain myself any better than this so I`ll cease trying.

Positives were that both quarterbacks looked really good, 4th quarter (and most of the second half, actually) notwithstanding. Offense was just as good as LSU in the first half, and I think they would have continued that if we'd had even a semblance of pass defense. Rushing defense was for the most part good. A couple of long runs sorta skewed that.

But LSU is good. They were ranked #10 for a good reason. And had they beaten Georgia last week, the most likely would have been in the top 5.

Overall I'd say we looked pretty decent, but need some work/talent on defense. I found myself wishing Slay and Banks were there (well, Banks was there but couldn't play ....). And Dak is the best QB I've ever seen at MSU. He's got over 2.5 years with us, and is going to be absolutely outstanding.

I do too. All these clowns calling for Mullen's head need to see a shrink. It's not the easiest thing to recruit to Mississippi State and he's doing as well as anybody else could or would...yes, I'm speaking of Hudspeth as well. If somebody wants to be a fan of a program that wins all the games, then just jump aboard the Alabama bandwagon or LSU bandwagon, since there always seems to be a lot of room, of course, until they lose a game, and then nobody knows who they are as in LSWho...I know because I'm surrounded by them.

i feel much better about the offense. it looks like we can run the pass game nearly exclusively through lewis and supplement that through ross, wilson, and morrow. lsu had no answer for lewis whatsoever and he was the only wr that had any significant separation. a side note on morrow, he is an EXCELLENT blocker. yeah, he got flagged once for a critical holding, but dude can block....receiving is his bugaboo...which is a problem no doubt. dak needs to work on his accuracy and decision making, but i love his running ability. he was frustrating the hell out of that chavis defense.

overall, i saw something i rarely saw before in my lifetime....a lead on lsu....we just let the wheels fall off. overhaul the defense, tweak the offense, find a kicker, and we are in a much better situation.

Yeah, a lot of people on this board think LSU won only by the score, and they consider that unimportant (pyrrhic victory).

The word victory should not be used in any context regarding what happened to MSU last night. That doesn't take away from the positives. I'll throw in another. Both lines held their own or better for a lot of the game. Not a sunshine pumper here. I was ready write off the whole offensive coaching staff after the pathetic showing at OSU and I'm sure my posting history would reveal that...

I would have said the same thing at the end of the 3rd qtr. Not after the game.
