Week 3 is already upon us, and I smell upsets in the air. For this weeks game we'll go to the ESCC to the beautiful town of Niles (home of Booby's BBQ). Tonight's upset is ....... The unranked Dons of Notre Dame over the top 20 ranked and preseason top 5 picked Redhawks of Marist. Coach Hennessey really has his Dons clicking on all cylinders. The defense has only given up 1 score this entire season, and the offense is averaging 47 points per game. As far as Marist goes, well they have tons of talent, but they really don't seem as if they know what to do with it. From what I saw in the Br. Rice game, they just can't put it all together at the same time. In my humble opinion, if Pat Dunne was still there on opening night, Marist wins by 14. It's going to be a long slow drive out to Niles tonight, and we all know that always hurts. I'll take the Dons tonight, final score Notre Dame 28 - Marist 20. That's my upset for this week. Kyle Davis got into a minor altercation at School Im told and will be suspended for Saturday’s game. Capable back ups but Davis is Davis.
That'd be a huge upset...Joliet Central has been better and could be 2-0, but definitely over-matched in this game. Speed and strength
Tough week... The Dons and Barrington are some good picks. As is the Simeon option. I'm gonna go with whoever is playing IC so @eagles2k3 can tell me how my picks are awful again lol

HC was highly rated and in the top 10 OPRF hasn't even been honorable mention! HC has a win against a much ballywho'd NC. I think everyone thinks HC is the favorite here.

Without their RB!! I heard he is the real deal And kinda the Lynch pin of that offense? Without him - more mundane and less scary of an offense?
On a side note - wow what a crowd last weekend at Francis field!! They frikkin ran out of nearly everything food wise by half time! We got down there late with the construction but made it before the game started!
Without Skokna OPRF is definitely the fav here.
Fwiw I have info that two more prominent starters on HC's offense won't be playing tonight. Replacing Skokna is not possible of course but HC is surprisingly deep this year so I'm still homerly-optimistic. I can't say if HC should be favorited or not but I will say that on paper that OP defense looks nasty. Should be a great game.
Should be a good game. I’m very interested to see the outcome. OPRF run D I think is very very solid. You might be able to have some success thru the air if the run Boggs down. HC can usually throw the ball pretty well. Is it the same this year?
Well wk1 the QB threw some really nice balls in clutch situations, but HC had also established that they could run the ball more or less at will....Then last week we were able to run the ball but just not to the same extent, and I think that was reflected in the passing game (7-19 for some 50ish yards and a pick 6 INT). So it's hard to comment at this point on what the passing attack really is this year. But we'll learn a lot tonight because OPRF will sit in a kind of cover 1, play man and just load the box up. So I'm thinking HC will have to have at least a handful of explosive passing plays to move the ball tonight.
