Well wk1 the QB threw some really nice balls in clutch situations, but HC had also established that they could run the ball more or less at will....Then last week we were able to run the ball but just not to the same extent, and I think that was reflected in the passing game (7-19 for some 50ish yards and a pick 6 INT). So it's hard to comment at this point on what the passing attack really is this year. But we'll learn a lot tonight because OPRF will sit in a kind of cover 1, play man and just load the box up. So I'm thinking HC will have to have at least a handful of explosive passing plays to move the ball tonight.

That is exactly what played out in the WV/OPRF game in week 1

As previously stated, the Lynch Mob eeks out victory in Ramblerland.
No doubt in my mind Caravan gives Loyola it’s best punch! But the only way they win is if they catch Loyola with their pants down, which ain’t happening...

Loyola 28
MC 7

Hopefully I’m wrong

Week 3 is already upon us, and I smell upsets in the air. For this weeks game we'll go to the ESCC to the beautiful town of Niles (home of Booby's BBQ). Tonight's upset is ....... The unranked Dons of Notre Dame over the top 20 ranked and preseason top 5 picked Redhawks of Marist. Coach Hennessey really has his Dons clicking on all cylinders. The defense has only given up 1 score this entire season, and the offense is averaging 47 points per game. As far as Marist goes, well they have tons of talent, but they really don't seem as if they know what to do with it. From what I saw in the Br. Rice game, they just can't put it all together at the same time. In my humble opinion, if Pat Dunne was still there on opening night, Marist wins by 14. It's going to be a long slow drive out to Niles tonight, and we all know that always hurts. I'll take the Dons tonight, final score Notre Dame 28 - Marist 20. That's my upset for this week. What are your thoughts, and who's your upset.

I just now saw this. Hah! Does anyone ever freaking listen to me? I know my alma mater.

Mt. Carmel losing rb Kyle Davis for the LA game is a serious predicament for them. They will need to get the running game rolling and now need to get it done without their best rb.

Nail. Head! Right down to the eek part!
Taking nothing away from other excellent high school coaches in Illinois but Jordan has similar experience and football knowledge as Holchek. Both played under great high school coaches, both excelled in college football and both had NFL experience - of course Jordan’s was short lived but he made up for it slightly by coaching at a D1 level. Plus Jordan is coaching a group of kids in the same environment and surroundings he grew up in. Again all due respect to Cogs, Badke and Kuska (and Papa Frank too) but Holchek finally has met his match from a “beyond” high school football level mindset and thinking, sort of a man playing (or coaching) amongst boys. This is an intangible that has made Holchek the coach he is and will make Jordan a great coach moving forward. Of course both LA and MC are loaded with talent which helps any coach! And lost important this is just my goofy opinion!

Loyola gets stopped on the final play of the game at the goal line and just like that Lynch is in the same class as Holecek in terms of being a head coach.

Did I miss something over the weekend?

This last post might be grounds for post of the year but for a far different and more disturbing reason. Sheesh

Newt, see my reply on the MC/LA upset thread. Hopefully I clarified the intent of my post. On a more near to my heart basis, I still can remember PCs 2014 dream team going into Wilmette and losing 10-7. After that game it was clear to me that a coach like John H out-coached Cogs and it got me thinking. My thoughts then and still now are in my reply. Thanks brother for listening to my rambling LOL
