It's getting to be that time of year when there is no such thing as an upset. But this thread must go on , so here we go. This weeks upset will be in the 8a bracket. I'll go with the #6 Fighting Saints of St. Charles East over the #3 Pirates of Palatine. This game is being played in Palatine, and these people come out for big games. The whole town will be in attendance. Both teams are undefeated, and have played similar schedules. What's the difference in this one going to be???? Who's healthier. That goes to the Fighting Saints. Palatine is without 2 of their best offensive players, and that is huge in a quarterfinal game. I like St C.E. in this one . Final score S.C.E 21 - Palatine 14. That's this weeks upset. What are your thoughts, and who is your upset?

Are you serious? Now that's guts. I think for this to happen Willowbrook needs to control the clock and get a lot of turnovers and hope ESL has bus lag. This would be the upset of the year.
Nate Silver at 538 gives them a 30% chance. He has been pretty spot on this week.

I wasn't impressed at all with SCN, and they were up 14-0 on SCE and couldn't close it out.
Palatine plays some stingy defense and their HC knows how to prepare for the TO. Palatine has seen it all this year also: speed, size, finesse, power and have experience in big games to draw on. This group had some playoff success last season.
I like Palatine big in this one.

Its a posibillity hey its playoff time anything can happen. But bus lag would not be the reason. I think the Flyers will head up later tonight. Just hope they are not over confident after last week game.
Yes Flyers have made this trip a couple of times before to Montini. Montini and Willowbrook just blocks from each other.
I think he was saying he saw scn and he wasn't impressed with them. Also that they couldn't hold the lead vs sce.
since it is quarterfinals and as Feeto says - there shouldn't really be any "upsets" this late in the playoffs - can I make my "upset call' to be: ESL will running clock Willowbrook?
Two? Who's out besides Oles? Grochowski has a broken hand, but caught 2 passes for 26 yards, handled the punting duties well, and kicked the game winning FG. Turner was held out the second half of the ND game, but came back to have 15 carries and a TD against Lyons.
Oles replacement, DJ Angelaccio, went 15-28 for 178 yds against a brutal Lyons defense.
Palatine's defense has been stout all year, and always seems to find a way and/or make adjustments to take away another team's strength(like picking Lyon's heralded QB three times..including their season ending pick in OT).They're +2 in TO margin in each of the first two playoff games, and Jake Moertl had his 8th INT of the season against Lyons. Additionally, everyone on the defense is healthy ..so I like our chances frankly.

Congrats MS4ever.. And PRookie. Great HS game for sure. You were worried some 4ever ? Stuck around to say hello but did not see you in the celebration crowd. Wish this one would have gone OT or two as the Griffins were doing better on the shorter field. Good luck next week Hawk fans. We need to get this game on the non-con schedule again.
