Sorry folks, I'm out of the country so this will be brief. After last week's fantastic opening pick, I'll stay with the Catholic League. This week's pick is My Mt. Carmel Caravan over the Hawks of Maine South. That's my upset. What are your thoughts and who is your upset?

You’re sure playing it safe this year after last year! I think with the Maine South injury to the QB and their defense performance last week makes MC the favorite but I’m real anxious to see how MC performs tonight as I wasn’t able to gage much off of their game against Gary Calumet because it was 42-0 in a blink of an eye.

I'm calling BS. Last wee Rita was an unranked team vs a ranked State Champ. This week, a very young Caravan goes out to MS. Just because it's not a 20 point dog, doesn't mean it's not an upset.

Not buying it. Last week was not an upset. JCA lost 18 starters from that team. And the highly ranked Caravan are playing a team without a QB that was destroyed last week. It used to be nice when you would at least go out in a limb.

I went out on a limb every week last year. I will again this year. You have to understand the art of being an "upset expert" Early in the season you need to get a feel for what's going on, and pick accordingly.

Normally I would cosign this Tom Foolery, but come on. Backup QB and coming off of a game where they got dominated on the DL. Not buying it.

That said my feeto's Friday Upset will be a real upset, The Brook over the #4 ranked SCN North Stars in St. Charles.

Well if this is the new standard i'll take Loyola over New Trier.

That’s true. By my lights a 13-12 loss to Wheaton North is a stronger reason to believe that DGS should be favored over York, than believing contrary on the basis of the Dukes’ 16-13 OT victory at Schaumburg (the details of which are really something). Really though I think this is a pick’em.
