Tony Gwynn only struck out 434 times. Unrelated to the original topic, but that's always been a fascinating stat to me. He basically struck out once a week on average for his entire career.
Lolol.. Like you noted every word he's ever said in an interview. He's given plenty of love to his assistants, as well sharing his bonus money with them. But do continue whatever narrative your trying to push.

TG was great. Always one of my fav players even though I was a Cub fan. The record is held by Joe Sewell with only 114 strikeouts over 14 years and 8000+ at bats. In the 20s - 30s.

I've met him a few times over the years. Heck of a nice guy. Your name says it all (Chicago). Use to love that city, not anymore. I drive through Illinois on 80, 8- 9 times a year. I never buy gas, stay at a hotel or stop to eat. Once we get across the river, all is good.
You can't lead a D1 football program without some degree of fortitude. Guys are looking to you 24/7 for confidence and leadership.
