He's had a quarter century to say it. If he has said it, I missed it.

He’s had 14 years, and has never said anything like that.

Babe Ruth hit 714 home runs. He struck out 1,330 times. He would still be on my all-time baseball team.
Tony Gwynn only struck out 434 times. Unrelated to the original topic, but that's always been a fascinating stat to me. He basically struck out once a week on average for his entire career.

TG was great. Always one of my fav players even though I was a Cub fan. The record is held by Joe Sewell with only 114 strikeouts over 14 years and 8000+ at bats. In the 20s - 30s.
