Have not seen Union play. Should be a good one. Still I know this. Glenvar has great D. THey also balanced on Offense. They shut down a Giles team who is very good. Glenvar21 Union 20

Richland has to travel. A long ways. I think like Glenvar APPO plays incredible D. Again SWVA goes down. APPO 35 Richlands 14

If Richlands loses by 3 TD, I'll be the first to admit I was wrong. But we've lost 1 game by 1 point and average 50 points a game. We may lose, but I don't see it being by 3 TD with us only have 2 TDs.

Same as last year..you guys came in with the high powered O and we were fortunate enough to shut it down. But what I'm getting at is people keep underestimating Richlands D. Although we were able to stop you guys, our high powered offense was also held to 1TD in regulation.

Richlands is MUCH more than just a scoring machine.

I think Richlands beats Appo by 10.
Glenvar/Union is a toss up. I think Union pulls it out but wouldn't be surprised.

On the East I think Buffalo Gap and Lee both win

I hope your wrong of course.....lol. I respect Appo's D, but I just don't see them holding us to only 14, but you never know. As long as we are 100% healthy with all our weapons going into the game I just don't see anybody holding us to only 14, but it is the state quarter final and nothing but great teams. If one team gets momentum and gets on a roll anything can happen.........to either team.
I just think it will be a close game with a one or 2 score difference at the most, with my blues winning.........but, I've been wrong before so we will see.

Trevor, Richlands returned nine starters from that defense. We had the misfortune of losing one of them to an ACL tear early in the year.

Offensively, four of the stars of this year's team didn't play a down in that game against Wilson. Howie, who leads the team in receptions, is a transfer from the same area Devon Johnson left to come to Richlands. Scottie Ball, the second leading receiver, didn't play football last year. And Nick Blankenship, the leading rusher, is a transfer from Tazewell. The fourth one I need to mention is John-Luke Asbury, the Qb, who is probably going to break every school passing record by the time he graduates.

I'll take Union over Glenvar in a close one.

Don't know enough about the other teams to make a prediction for those.

Can't wait to see how it all pans out tomorrow.

These 4 teams have been on a collision course for a while now, time to take off the gloves and see who is left standing. Not an easy task by any 4 of them to make it through.... I predict an all West final.....

IN D3, I like Abingdon in a close one also.

Four teams in the west, all have earned the right to be here and any could win it all. We are all passionate for our teams. The Richlands posters on here seem to be the most confident and they have a valid stat or two for every talking point. Appo posters seem to be the most humble even with the best record and the points back them up as the #1 seed. Union fans don't say much on here (radio silence?) even when they beat Richlands..they've kept quiet for the most part. I get the feeling..they are the like the quiet assassins. We Glenvar people are simply believers. We believe in our great coaches and players deeply, great senior leadership,and because we are coming together, healthy, playing our best fball at the end of the season like last year, and our D is going to be tough to beat. All four are legit but Defense travels well and both of these teams have that in spades. No disrespect intended to Appo and Union because it could just as easily be the exact opposite score. Like everyone else, I am guessing. Good luck to all 4 as you chase the championship.

I agree about Lee being in the wrong district - since every team BUT Lee is either Division 3 or 4 in the Valley District - and they never play any of them again once the regular season is over.

fletcher didnt get anywhere near 250, but lythgoe ran well also and lb had some big passing plays to beat abingdon. great win lb.
