Id like to hear from posters from any teams hosting playoff games as to expected field conditions and how that could affect game..i know some games will be played on turf..does a sloppy field benefit the favorite or the underdog? Just something to debate and discuss..with all the rain field conditions could be major concern for weeks to come...safe travels and best of luck to all playoff teams

Severe thunderstorms today in Jacksonville. 1st round game at Phil Padgett Stadium as the SWO Stallions host the Bertie Falcons Friday, sunny with highs in upper 50s. Probably be a little wet. Favors the Stallions with their running game.

Right now it is raining in the North Davidson area, but it is supposed to be gone by this evening (Thursday). ND's field drains really well and it is supposed to be sunny and the mid-50's on Friday. The First Flight/North Davidson game should be just fine.

Clinton's field has a high crown and a great drainage system, so the field should be in great shape. Even with lots of rain, I've never seen a player make a divot on the field, if that tells anyone anything.

In the 3AA 2015 playoffs, Ledford Senior played at Concord on November 20 in the 2nd round of the state playoffs. There had been a considerable amount of rainfall that week and the field conditions were atrocious. The reason I remember this is I went back onto my Twitter account and it shows where I actually tweeted out the picture and 'tagged' the NCHSAA asking how they could allow a game to be played in these conditions....no response.
This picture details what the field looked like between the hash marks and the side lines on Ledford's side of the field.
Yes this picture is real and can be documented by multiple others including the coaching staff.
(Important to note Ledford lost 27-0 to Concord however Concord was definitely a better football team regardless of field conditions.)

Bertie's starting qb is done with a shoulder injury. Not that it would have mattered anyway. Wet or dry the Falcons are finished.

Tough luck for the kid. I know he was looking forward to playing in a playoff game. Hope they have a pretty good backup.

Reichone, where at on the field was that photo taken.

I remember the complaints. There was a lot of precipitation toward the end of the season. That was the third game in a row played there and they would play the next two rounds at home losing to Crest in the regional final.

btango, the picture was taken immediately after the game and details the condition of the field in-between the hash marks and the visitors (Ledford's) sideline.
Again, Concord was a great team that year but just hard to play in those conditions.

Randleman has probably been running that sprinkler system since Monday...and thankfully East Lincoln has an away game.

Football is meant to be played outside in any weather conditions.... Tge NCHSAA should not let any schools move a game due to a wet field or rain in the forecast

Why would randleman be running their sprinkler system???
Kidding....mostly. In the late 80’s, I drove by Randleman’s stadium on a Thursday during a driving rain storm. I personally witnessed those sprinklers running like crazy. The Bulldogs played there the following night. That sight just totally amazed me. Hard to forget.

I remember the 1993 game,I seen the exact same thing at randelman...that game was played in just downright terrible conditions, couldn't tell who was who, they won in a very low scoring game, and won the conference championship

tell us about it. Clinton did not play a single game/day in the month of September. We got 3inchess the first of the week and 2 1/2 night before last. Not sure about last night but my pick-up bed was full. The wettest football season Ive ever seen.

Weather is 37 and sunny down here right now. Norths field doesn't drain well so I expect it to be a little messy. Is Bandys and Franklin still on?
