The Pro Bowl is meaningless and has been for a while. Tyler Huntley was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2022 as an injury replacement, and he started a grand total of four games when Lamar Jackson was hurt, and threw for 658 yards with three interceptions and two touchdowns.

I remember when it used to be a big deal. Trip to Hawaii and such. Now they make so much money a trip to Hawaii for the family doesn’t mean much, and the don’t even go to Hawaii, they get to hang out in San Francisco and play flag football.

Sanders stats: 7 games started, 56.6% completions, 1,400 yards, 7TD, 10 INT.

Do players still have bonus clauses for getting selected to the Pro Bowl? Seems like anyone can get selected these days, and no one wants to go.

If his last name wasn’t Sanders, he wouldn’t receive so much hate, also probably wouldn’t have made the Pro Bowl this year.
I really don’t understand all the hate. I haven’t watched his games as a rookie, but he was far from the worst college qb I’ve seen make a pro team. Of course he’s in Cleveland, so he’ll be a failure.

Ok, why does he deserve to go? Played at most... 7 games.

I think a big part of the hate started after he got drafted where he belonged and then all of the left looney sports media made it about race. Plus he and Deion said some dumb stuff.

He was drafted in the right spot. Actually one of Cleveland’s better all time draft picks considering where they got him. (Not really much of a compliment)

I think a good deal of the hate is reactionary to the undue sunshine pumping the guy gets. And also a lot can be attributed to the fact the whole family just have a douchey personality.

Dillon Gabriel had better stats, so maybe he should’ve gone to the Pro Bowl? But the Browns won three of Shadeur’s starts because the defense was really good. They beat the Bengals in a game they had two defensive touchdowns and beat the Steelers in a game where they scored 13 points.

One article I read said Lawrence declined the invitation. Pretty much everyone worth a crap declined or was injured. They were really scraping the bottom of the barrel. Just shows how going out to Santa Clara to play in a flag football game really isn’t a big draw.
I think that's been a real issue for them in recent years. They're to the point of having to take players who are willing to go to the Pro Bowl. I suspect it was an easier sell when the game was in Hawaii. Really, they need to just scrap it anyway, but they're going to keep grabbing all the money they can, even though I can't imaging why anyone would want to watch it.

Most of the hate directed at him is because he's a Dick, yes w/ a capital D. The rest of it is because of his Dick of an old man and his lack of performance this season and still going to the Pro Bowl.

Still don’t understand your point.

are you advocating for one or the other or both or neither?

Gabriel had better stats, but because the defense got Shadeur two wins, and the third win was against the sorry Raiders, people can point to Shadeur’s better record and say he was better. When really, if you were going to pick a Browns quarterback to play on the Pro Bowl flag football game, Gabriel had better stats. However, neither of them should be within 100 miles of a Pro Bowl, but when everyone else declines or is hurt, you gotta pick someone. And Shadeur will bring the publicity.
