.......what must be a complete debacle, this "new" Total Recall? Not even the greatness of Bryan Cranston should be able to save this film with no-talent assclowns Jessica Biel& Colin Farrell having major roles.I guess Ben Afeck was too busy for a part, he'd fit right in. Biel should only be photo'd half naked and be on a poster and damn, Farrell ruined Sonny Crockett for me in a miami vice filmthatfailed to evenhave the charactersCastilloor Switek& Zito or the girls Joplin & Calabrese cast in the film.

If you're old enough to appreciate the original, and have seen the "new" one and actually liked it, please try to convince me.

thanks in advance for the input.

Its a completely different movie than the first film. I thought it was ok, but if you're going to see Quade terraform Mars then you need not spend the money. Its just a different story.

In summery: The acting was ok, the story was "different", and the chicks were 17ing hot.

Making a Sci Fi movie?

Yep.

What's it about?

Don't know yet.

Just remake one.Or do a way in the future sequel or something.

Seems lazy doesn't it?

Yeah, but everyone is doing it. And put Kate Beckinsale in it.

I guess... and why her?

She's, like... well, when she's in a sci-fi movie... going to that movie is like sex for nerds.

That's gross.

That's money.

Let's get started.</p>

Affleck should have been Quade. The worst Ferrell movie of all time had to be Alexander. Who knew Alexander the Great had an Irish accent and liked dudes? Plus the movie doesn't take place on Mars and have the mutants (caused by Quade's corporation), but yet they have a three tittied chick? Wait, I give them a pass on that one. No way it beats the campy original. The little mutant guy in the other dude's stomach, Arnold shooting Sharon Stone and saying "consider dat a divorce," and the fat lady costume.

I believe he had a butt-buddy that was a close friend his whole life...he fancied the relationship as though they were Achilles and Patrocles.

But enough about my taste in women.<div>
</div><div>spoilers ahead.
<div>
</div><div>Seriously though.. it sucked. Hard. Beckinsdale is the only good thing in the movie that isn't cgi. They completely shredded the Cohagen character. I had no idea what his motivation was during the entire movie. He was already controlled everything, yet he wanted more... what? Land? So the answer was to kill the workforce? Brilliant.</div><div>
</div><div>At least in the first one the motivations were clear. Also in the first one you understood at the end that Hauser had orchestrated the whole thing but that the new Hauser didn't want to go back to his old self.</div><div>
</div><div>Their transportation method through the planet was cool though. The Fall. I found myself contemplating it more than the weak plot unfolding on the screen.</div><div>
</div><div>Also... Beckinsdale and Biel looked so similar I had trouble telling them apart at first.</div><div>
</div><div>And finally.. the bad guys' aim in Total Recall made the stormtroopers in Star Wars look like Annie Oakley. </div> </div>

about remakes and how they could not stand them. I now understand their position.Off the top of my head I don't remember a remake that was better than the original.

well i'd say the newer dawn of the dead was better than the original. (not the original night of the living dead)

the thing from the 80s was better than the original from the 50s. same story with the fly.

true grit (new was awesome, one of my fav movies from the lastcouple of years) - also, some of yall that are fans of old westerns probably will disagree, but at the very least i think you have to say true grit is on par with the original, and take away nostalgia and i think it's a much better movie similar argument could be made with 3:10 to yuma.

13 assassins

let me in is on par with the foreign original let the right one in(if you consider an american remake ofa recent foreign original to be a "remake" for the sake of this kinda discusion). same with the girl with the dragon tattoo. same with the departed.

casino royale is also kinda a remake, though not originally a bond movie, just a spy movie.

then you get into franchise reboots, like the batman franchise. i think we all can agree the christopher nolan trilogy are far superior to any other previous batman installment.

you can also get into splitting "re-imaging" v. remaking too, which introduces god knows how many great movies.

so in short, just like movies in general, most movies suck, but there are plenty still worth watching also.

The entire story was the Recall plot for the new memory. The proof is as he is put into the machine they have pictures of the secret Martian discovery which will be planted in his memory. The new memory has to be staged to get him out of the machine in the new character.
