If that's true ref 5 seniors , they should not be allowed to play winter sports or spring sports .they are quitters thus their athletic career should be over .
Not sure if that is true or not about the players not making the trip but my brother lives in West Point and he told me the same thing earlier today. I hope if they didn't make the trip it was because of illness or a very valid reason because even though Altavista was heavily favored you just don't quit on your teammates. Maybe someone from WP can verify this.
All I will say are some didn't make the trip. Not all were seniors but I agrre, injured or not, you don't walk out on your team and several did. A terrible message to send the underclassmen who looked up to some of these guys.
I don't know for certain I just heard some WP fans talking about it. Though it would explain the really small team. We commented on how few reserves the Pointers had. The roster on MaxPreps has 32 players listed and there was only like 22 or so on the sidelines tonight.
Man I hope that isn't trus! Why just give up? I know West Point was playing a strong team but that's one thing you look forward to is not giving up!! To not show up for a playoff game on your senior year pure crazy! And for the ones that were not seniors next year they would definitely not start or I may sound crazy they wouldn't be on my team. That shows lack of leadership and lack of heart. I will say coaching this year these young adults are not like most of us when we played! I know myself football was my everything I played my all for every quarter no matter what the score! It's about heart! I seen this year when a team gets down they just give up! I'm going to reach out to a WP coach to find out !
