Final decision: Alabama or LSU?

1. The dome factor. Yes, it's a neutral game but there has to be some certain nostalgia of playing there, just 80 miles from campus.
2. This brings up the dome factor again. The speed factor. LSU's D is gonna look scary fast on turf. Sure, Bama's is also but I think LSU has a little more speed on offense to go along with their D. I think the turf is going to make it an even faster game and that will favor LSU. There will be more offense than the 1st time around simply due to having a month to tweak in some new wrinkles. Again, I think this favors the Tigers as they have more playmakers on offense.

But I'd be interested in seeing those records and the games they were in. Would be equally interesting to see records of these coaches when the opponent has had 2+ weeks to prepare.

I don't especially care who wins the game, merely a hunch Bama will.

as a matter of fact...the comparison I saw was Miles at LSU vs Saban at LSU and Bama....Miles had lost 3 games with 2 weeks or more to prepare- vs Tenn after Katrina, vs Fla in 2008, and the bowl game vs Penn St in the mud and slop 2 years ago.<div>
</div><div>Miles is 3-0 vs Saban when Miles had a bye week before playing Bama...Saban has had a bye week for all 5 games</div>

Did you even watch the first game? Bama won everywhere except where it counts. They moved the ball much better than LSU did and had more scoring chances than LSU did. Add the fact that it's really hard to beat a good team the second time and you can add another title to Bama's trophy case (what's that 30 they'll claim now?)

Most of you guys think Miles is some kind of idiot. But the fact is, he's a damn good coach. One of the best in the country, and possibly THE best in the country. He had a better record at Oklahoma St. than Jimmy Johnson did and he has a better record at LSU than Saban did (even if you throw out the rebuilding years for Saban) and he has a winning record against Saban head-to-head. He's finally starting to get some of the credit he's been due for a long time this year. </p>

If Bama could have kicked the ball then they would have won that ballgame 18-9.<div>

Is the Superdome turf cajun-etically engineered to only make LSU faster?
LSU was obviously the faster team- Bama was more physical. LSU's DL and Secondary will give Bama even more fits on that turf tonight.

Although I thinka lot of the time Miles has made his own luck. He has a great instinct for knowing when to take a risk to get a big reward and for catching the other team off guard withtrick plays.Sometimes it backfires on him, but more often than not it works.

LSU by 6 points.

13-7 defense rules the day for both sides. Bama can get nothing going and Sabin will not budge from game plan.

Therefore, if I were you guys, I'd bet on Bama

I think LSU is moderatelythe more talented and skilled team. Bama couldn't beat them in Tusca with abye week to prepare. I think LSU gets at least one, maybe two speical teams or defensive scores. I think they pressure the shat out of McCarron this time...force him into mistakes or at least one pick six. They pound the stuffing out of Bama with those 4 running backs...using the big ones in the 4th Ware + Hilliard. Play action torueben r.deep early on. He can beat Kirkpatrick deep. The cajuns have all day to "pepper the gumbo" for what is basically a home game. I too think LSU is the faster more explosive team by nose...on louisiana turf...that defense on turfis going to look like a pack of wild dogs on meth.

I think lsu has more talent than anyone in the country. Deep deep deep. Best special teams in the country too.

I don't believe in the Bama QB.

Al. thinks they won the first one, need to hit field goals and get the ball in the hands of Richardson. Besides more speed on turf, better starting QB, etc., I really expect some new wrinkles for Bama to face.

-Nick Saban's teams are the most disciplined in the country, year in and year out.
-LSU is a gang of thugs all taped together with Les Miles Tape (in one of the best coaching/baby sitting jobs in history).
-It's hard to get "up" to beat someone you've already beaten. Alabama will have the advantage in motivation.
-LSU does have home field and special teams advantages. This could very well be another overtime thriller. But I think Bama wins by 4.

I really think they are the best 2 coaches in the country right now. And it's hard to say which one is #1A and which is #1B. I guess tonight will decide.

Alabama, the experts and such. A Bama friend of mine heard a rumor that a sharp put 10Mil on Bama. No thank you, I might put 5, but not 10. Anyways, I picking LSU and here are my reasons:

1. Special teams- LSU has got a great kicker, punter, and coverage teams- they get TDs
2. Its a home game
3. To me LSU has better players and equally good coach
4. Mobile QB will create at least one big play for a score

As looking at the first game, LSU was never behind, so as long as its a tie game, the whole strategy was to wait for Bama to make a mistake. Beating Bama at their place was MUCH HARDER than playing them in New Orleans.

I think McCarron is better than any either of theLSU QBs. McCarron has been steady all season, even against top tier opponents. Jefferson on the other handhas really onlypassed well againstWestern Kentucky and Arkansas. The only difference between the two is that Jefferson can occasionally make good plays in the running game.</p>

I will be pulling for LSU but I believe Bama will win it.

Both defenses are two of the most talented you will ever see in college football but I think Bama's is a little better.Bama also has by farthe bestplayer onthe offensive sideof the ball. In the end,I believe Richardson makes the difference. Bamawins 17-6.

Should be a close game, but expect a few more TD scores this time. It will be a predominantly LSU crowd, 60% plus for LSU. The game will come down to QB play and who makes a big play and who makes the mistakes. I just don't see LSU losing in the Dome...

the clear difference in that game was at QB. Jefferson, who replaced an ineffective Lee, won that game for LSU with his running ability. He can get to the edge and make Alabama defend both him AND the option back. Jefferson's passing ability has greatly improved and must be respected. McCarron was downright bad in the OT, making poor decisions and taking a sack. Frankly, he looked confused and the situation a bit too big for him. I think lsu will be content to put the game on McCarron's shoulders.

I think the LSU run game goes off tonight. Mix in a few play action big hits and then LSU pins it ears back on D

I know two LSU fans, one actually went there. I know hundreds of Bama fans, one actually went there. Such is life in an eastern border county in Mississippi.
