Great win for the Vikings. Feels good to beat the Griffins but just another win along the way to an undefeated State Championship season. WE ARE HF!!!!!!!

They won state? Congrats HF. Looks like the Hampton twins don't like getting hit.

You are a class act, Fratty! can't wait until LA ends the dream season. HF is good once a decade, so enjoy. Did you actually go to ND?

It's three touchdowns now?! They've gotten a whole touchdown better in a couple weeks.

The selection committee is going to love this final. I wonder if they will be voted the number one overall seed? #sarcasm

LWE did not play mistake free. HF is going to have some issues in the later rounds of the playoffs. Decent team, not great though. Won't make the title game.

You may be right. A lot of talent on the team but typically HF does not play as a team with disapline. This flaw maybe there undoing as the competition gets tougher.

I wouldn't pound my chest on the Stevenson win. HF beat what will ultimately be a third place team in the NSC Lake. And I also think the boys in burgundy and gold might have a little something to say about who wins 8A

Is there nowhere we can escape you?

I loathe interrupting your naïve imagining; however, I would like to gently remind you the playoffs have yet to begin. Such claims as to the supposed invincibility of HF are, well, just a bit premature.

It started with your musings of fans flocking in droves to HF games, later to be demolished with photographic evidence as utter nonsense. You then proceeded to lavish praise on Kenny Smith for a magical first-year record of 8-5 and promptly threw him under the bus when he consigned HF to the dustbin of Illinois football history two years later.

Now you have returned unwanted, unwelcome, and traveling under a banner the 8A title has already been earned by HF.

What characterizes your particular brand of shameful posting is the unqualified lack of humility: This is the source of contempt for you and subjects you to mockery in this forum.

A good fan recognizes their team’s strengths and infirmities. Living in your make-believe world, you consider your posts to be a form of bravely speaking out in favor of the Vikings; I doubt HF fans share the same sentiment. It would surprise few if HF fans consider your posts to be seditious by conventional standards and regard you as a professional provocateur.

You are the rare exception to the universal and immutable rule the target of prejudice is not the cause of prejudice. There exist a deep and unrelenting bias toward you for your boasting and insolence. Should HF not win the state title, I would not find myself in a state of despair if HF fans were to direct their ire at you and intimate you were somehow involved or even complicit in HF’s defeat.

Watching your slow transformation from belligerent aggression to nervous pusillanimity as the state football tournament approaches has been an exuberating escapade.

As the post-season approaches, your fortress mentality slowly collapses and your world grows nebulous. Well, my dear friend, the ramparts will soon crumble: The deeper HF advances in the playoffs, the narrower the final scores will become. This ubiquitous verity will certainly intensify a simmering air of crisis in your universe as the likelihood HF becomes the eventual victim of a primitive frenzy of killer sharks in the form of a resolute opponent.

You are not a man of sober judgement: You post distorted garbage; your projections are akin to witchcraft; and this provides fodder for fellow members. You deserve the condemnation you receive here.

The specter of HF’s seminal catastrophe is on the horizon. Amid this spate of bad news, perhaps then you will disappear into some dark, stinking alleyway, never to return.

Newt:

Nor would I. I went to the Stevenson-Libertyville game several weeks ago to get a glimpse. I walked away impressed with both Sorenson and Lees; both are impressive players and good athletes. Unfortunately for Sorenson, he just couldn't emerge as the one-man wrecking ball against what I considered an unyielding Libertyville defense.

I bisect my response to your reply to Domer in one way to buttress your communicating to him, an obtuse man, HF beat the likely third-place team in the NSC Lake division, but also to accentuate a phenomenon I have not witnessed in abundance in athletics for years.

Throughout a majority of the game on this Friday evening a few weeks back, I frequently witnessed a distinct stripe of good sportsmanship from Libertyville players. On innumerable occasions, I observed Libertyville players extending hands to Stevenson players assisting them up off the ground or seeing Libertyville players pat opponents on the helmet as the play ended.

One player, number 8, Ben Kimpler, was one who I noticed symbolizing the best in sportsmanship with his frequent displays of gamesmanship.

I am neither omitting Stevenson from fair play nor am I limiting what I saw in this game to one player on Libertyville; I am simply expounding on what I saw in abundance from the Libertyville players.

It is said, with justification, good manners are learned at home. While this truth is beyond reproach, the comradeship I witnessed at this game was worth mentioning.

Someone or a group of people at LHS is taking their job seriously, and for the better.
