Man I'm glad this season is over. Vacillated between pulling for our head coach and running him in the ground.
This game was terrible. Just about decides it for me.
I think I will have a lot of free time during hunting season next year.

Totally agree. I want to pull for this guy so bad, and I obviously want him and the team to be successful but it just isn’t going to happen.

I could make a ton of excuses for him today: our top 2 defenders choosing not to play, our QB that gives us the best chance to win being out, leading rusher in the SEC getting hurt on the first play, etc.....But just looking at the total big picture leads me to believe that this dude just will not be successful here.

What a rude awakening for him. He steps off the plane in Starkville talking about ring sizes and clearing off space on the mantle for Heisman trophies and ****....the bravado. Just staggering. Look, I like confidence. I dig it. When Mullen came here and just told everyone to 17 off, I loved it. We needed that at that time. But this is not that. It’s naivety. Which is not what we need right now, or ever.

He spoke about this season being an “entire book” in a head coach’s memoir(rather than just a single chapter). I agree. What an awful season with tons of adversity. But tutorgate aside, the adversity was largely created by him. The offensive system is abysmal, special teams were a nightmare all season, and the starting QB getting taken out by one of our own players?? Inexcusable. I could name many more and so could you.

At some point you have to take a look in the mirror. And he’s a smart guy, I’m sure he will this offseason. But I feel like we are mired in the definition of insanity. And I just don’t think he has the ability to acknowledge it and make the necessary changes.

So here’s to 2020. Grab your drinks and toast to another year of this nightmare. And mark my words: IT WILL BE EXACTLY THE SAME AS THIS YEAR, if not worse. And then we’ll get a new coach and start all over again.

Happy New Year to all.

I can't tell you how happy I am this season's misery is over. Unfortunately we'll start getting stressed out again in 8 months for what awaits us in the 2020 football season.

I don't think it could have been stated any better. We should pin this to the top of the page.

The buck stops with Joe. Some things are out of his control, but when it's a non stop **** storm one after another, you do have to look at the guy who's in charge of the football team as the problem. His players have no fear of accountability at all. Joe NEVER coaches up his team while we're missing tackles, piss poor punt and kickoff returns, low football IQ plays at worst times, etc....he's never coaching. He's just staring at his play sheet or talking on the headset. Just all around failure at the HC position.

Maybe basketball can be a pleasant surprise too. Just sucks how far we've fallen in football. It feels like 3-9 Croom seasons bc of how embarrassing the product on the field has been.

Allow me to spin these points the other way.

I could make a ton of excuses for him today: our top 2 defenders choosing not to play, our QB that gives us the best chance to win being out, leading rusher in the SEC getting hurt on the first play, etc.....

I mean, if you want to get right down to the nuts of it:

1. The defenders choosing not to play... you know, a lot of guys WANT to play for their teammates and coach on the way out. "One last ride" and all that. For some reason, not this year. Not this team (except for 8, who wanted to break a record). One could read that whole situation as apathy from those guys - just ready to move on, because they know this is a **** show not going anywhere.

2. The QB being out... you can certainly pin the non-disciplined culture on the head coach.

3. Kylin getting hurt... This one pisses me off more than the others, not because he got hurt - football players can get hurt on ANY play. But it's the "first play" that gets me. Raise your hand if you didn't know we were handing the ball off to Kylin on the first play? I did. Satterfield did. I bet all 11 guys on defense did. It's been the same first-play call in all 13 games. Of course he got stuffed - which makes it all the more likely he gets hurt. "Dynamic playcaller" my lily white ***. 17 that guy.

Maybe I'm just piling on now, seeing things in a negative light. But seriously, 17 that guy.
