Anyone watch the game today? Ndoye never even played while I was watching. RR had tweeted for everyone to watch. I would have thought That meant he expected the kid to play!We better step it up in recruiting soon.

From what I heard they just said he was wearing a different number....and he played a bunch and looked good. But I didn't watch, so maybe someone else can verify

I just saw the second half. Two 8-minute quarters, and he probably played 9-10 of those minutes. He seems very skinny and needs to put on weight, but I was impressed with his lateral quickness (for his size) and his putback ability. He seems to have more fundamentals down than most high school players, and he also seemed like a willing team-defensive player. I could not tell much from his offensive game as I only saw him touch it once on a quick put-back layup in traffic. I would say future outlook is to be determined, still.

Watched the first half. Ndoye was wearing the #2 jersey. Came in midway through the first quarter and picked up two quick fouls on the same possession. Didn't play again till the second half, but I had quit watching by then.

Everything you said plus I believe his D was pretty solid as well. He had to step out and guard defenders on the perimeter a few times...and he did. He looks quicker than I had originally remembered. He is light years ahead of the last giraffe we signed. I could care less if he ever scores a point. As long as he can come in and get us 5-6 offensive rebounds, not allow the dribble drive, and learn to push a defensive rebound with the quickness..I will be happy. We need a garbage man and he looks the part.

If he averages 4 points a game and can get double digit rebounds and an occasional block, he's worth the offer and considerable PT. Offense is overrated a lot of times, especially when we're likely to play 3 guards and a scoring forward.

Vincent was the best garbage man we ever suited up. This kid is not that type of garbage guy. He is 143 pounds soaking wet. Imagine Varnado without the timing. He is more advanced on the offensive end than Jarvis was at this point. Hell, Varnado didnt even shoot until his Jr year. This kid is and will always be skinny. Will he block 600 shots..no. He will be shoved around....but maybe he can use hop where he lacks on muscle, or maybe he will be an All American practice player. We need length in game and in practice, and he has it.

While I agree with this 100%, I though Wendell showed a lot of improvement in his offensive game for what little time we had him. Granted, he had a much wider frame that Fallou does, but I'm not writing off his offensive game as a lost cause when he hasn't even suited up for us yet. Not to mention that chances our our shooting this year probably won't be the standard and we'll get some outside game to open up spots for Fallou to finish at the basket.

Keep in mind he's playing for possibly the best team in the country...

They are undefeated this year and have won something like 56 straight games going back to last year. They have a lot of really good players on that prep team, including a 6'9" player and four more 6'10" or taller.

Ndoye played most of the second half, nearly all of the 4th quarter. He plays really hard--he sprints down the court, especially on defense. He successfully guarded big men and smaller quick guys, and Fallou moves laterally very well for such a tall guy. He rebounded made putbacks, blocked shots, and deflected/altered shots. Even took a charge.

Didn't see him actually shoot a jump shot, but he did everything else well.

Some skinny guys like him get into college and their game just doesn't translate, they can't even rebound against 6'2" guys who can jump and are getting off the floor quicker. There is a athleticism component to rebounding in college that isn't required in high school. Some skinny guys like him come in and are model middle of zone defense guys, who do have the athleticism to get those rebounds and blocks shots. But very few guys with his body type contribute early.

Too many in college basketball share your view about offense, which has made the game borderline unwatchable.

Fallou won't play next season.

Don't get me wrong, I love offense, which is why MSU basketball has been a love-hate relationship for me since Jamont bounced, but MSU fans have this idea that every single person on a basketball team has to average a double-double in either rebounds or assists.

Watch the Final Four this weekend and I'm sure you'll notice that all the teams have big men who get significant PT and don't score. When you have a Burkes and Hardaway why do you also need an Anthony Davis-type player? Obviously every coach in America would love that opportunity, but in college basketball that's not really possible. Especially at MSU. If scoring is the only thing he can't do, I'm 100% ok with it because we have 4 other guys likely to be on the court at the same time who can.

Outside of Howard and your All-Stars, most C's in the NBA aren't scorers either. Tyson Chandler is going to ruin you on D and out rebound you all day every single damn day. He's a professional so obviously he can score, but he rebounds and throws it instantly to JR Smith or 'Melo almost every single time, and that's what I think he could be.

Is Wendell getting an injury year 100% certain now? Either way, my point is I don't expect our shooting this year to be a standard in the future, so having an outside game will help him get open.

Coach Ray has said it's pretty much a certainty but the NCAA has done crazier things.

I don't think UofL or Michigan would be where they are without the offensive play of Dieng and McGary. Syracuse is balanced with little offensive production from Christmas, but there are nights when they couldn't score with 8 guys on the floor. Couldn't tell you where Wichita gets their production from.

As bad as today's college game is, nothing could keep me from Atlanta this weekend to see the Maestro go after #2.75. In my view, the only hurdle is having to face Syracuse without Ware's length.

What have you seen from his game that would indicate his offensive game is more advanced than Vanardo's?

Just through a few clips and two televised games. Nothing live. He is raw, yes....but do you recall how raw Varnado was on the offensive end of the floor his freshman and soph years? From what you have seen, what makes you think he will not be a good garbage man?

True, but Syracuse and Louisville both had big men who had a presence and did little to help their team score. We're talking about not only the best coaches in the country, but some of the best recruiters in the history of the game, yet they have guys on their roster a lot similar to this guy.

That's my only point. Everyone is dogging the guy and not looking at it from an unbiased perspective.

I've seen one rebound and put back in a high school game. In other words, not nearly enough to know how his game translates to what is supposed to be a power 6 conference.

So why are you posting stuff in this thread if you have nothing to report? Other than being a complete dick, tell me, what do you bring to this board? Are you actually trying to have a conversation or are you being your normal self?

The more I see Ndoye the more I like this pick up. He is bigger/stronger than I initially thought. He looks to have the frame to put on a lot of muscle too. I can see him being 15-20 lbs shy of Patrick Young by his senior year. He has about 5 nice plays in this video and his little jumper is better than Varnado's at the start of JV career. Ndoye is surrounded by filthy talent and it can't help but rub off on him. Ray now has a nice in with the best team in the country. Hell of a pick up by Ray I think.
