Fining/Suspending of SEC Coaches... My thoughts

First, for coaches wins are the only form of job security. And let me cover myself on the front end by saying that the refs didn't lose the game for us, LSU, or any of the teams they've screwed. However, the numerous bad calls have put the game out of reach, making it MUCH more difficult for a rally. I think it's insane to fine or suspend a coach for criticizing the ref's job performance when the ref's blown calls could affect the coach's job.

Second, I really don't have a problem with fining a coach if they blame the loss on the refs, or just rant on and on about them. I also don't have a problem with it if the coach is wrong. But if the coach is rightfully criticizing the refs, I see no foul. The only way the SEC will upgrade it's officiating is by coaches calling out the ****** officials.

Third, if the official truly 17's up a call, or non-call in some cases the OFFICIAL should be fined, not the coach.

Just my two cents.

but the league does not want any public criticism.
Even though it may be warranted, while tempers are flaring.

None of the AD's, who are the real people who should be speaking about these issues, are going to say jack. They all have multimillion dollar budgets to oversee so they will take that huge SEC check and keep their mouth shut. The coaches, however, are another matter as you pointed out. Just another day in the world of the billion dollar industry masquerading as amateur sports. This is big business and there is no place for sentiment and silly idealistic notions of fair play and equity.
