Including Hobbs. Sadly, we won’t. This is Rutgers Football. Recruiting will be awful. Coaching changes will be awful.

I haven’t a clue who you are or which team you coach, but pretty damn sure you could do a better job. I actually think Ash is a decent DC. But he is no HC and a horrible gameday tactician. And hire who with what cash? We do not have the money to pay out their contracts and hire new elite coaches.
Yes we do. It will cost more in the long run. We'll be losing more in lost donations and ticket sales if we keep this guy.And hire who with what cash? We do not have the money to pay out their contracts and hire new elite coaches.
What financial crisis?Hobbs only got the job because of a connection to Christie.
He will be gone when the Financial crisis hits his Department in 2019.
Ash has proven at least he can coach defense. Unfortunately like you said, that doesn't make you a good HC.I haven’t a clue who you are or which team you coach, but pretty damn sure you could do a better job. I actually think Ash is a decent DC. But he is no HC and a horrible gameday tactician.
And when I said ‘decent’ I really meant I think he’s pretty darn good as a DC.Ash has proven at least he can coach defense. Unfortunately like you said, that doesn't make you a good HC.

Chances are he probably ends up as a DC for an SEC or B1G school again when the inevitable happens. And when I said ‘decent’ I really meant I think he’s pretty darn good as a DC.
Fire everyone? For starters you cutting a check you f'in idiot? Stupid thread. You are clueless. You'd run Amazon into the ground 10days into the jobIncluding Hobbs. Sadly, we won’t. This is Rutgers Football. Recruiting will be awful. Coaching changes will be awful.

He spearheaded a campaign and raised...~$73MM? Lesniak pushed for the $25MM for the tax breaks. But this is for the B1G Build Fund. Can’t use it for FB coaches.Hobbs allegedly raised 100 million dollars.
What financial crisis?
lol. You mad broFire everyone? For starters you checking a check you f'in idiot? Stupid thread. You are clueless. You'd run Amazon into the ground 10days into the job

not good enough to win a gameAnd when I said ‘decent’ I really meant I think he’s pretty darn good as a DC.
Here is the reality, sad as it is. Although our demographics suggest we belong in a conference like the B1G, the fact is that we don't. We have neither the money, the leadership, nor the institutional will to be here, and the results of the last three years seem to confirm that. And this result is fully consistent with our history. But for a short period of competitive mediocrity+ with Schiano, the fact is that we have been the metaphor for failure in athletics almost every year since we decided to be a 'full scholarship program" in the 70s. There has never been support in the State or the legislature or the BOG or among the well-heeled alumni (as few or as many as there may be) for us to compete with our peer state universities in the B1G, Big East or anywhere else. Couple that with terrible choices for AD, including Hobbs, and you have what is nothing more than what we have always been - an athletic misfit, though now on a larger stage.
I thought a perfect metaphor for who we are and how we are perceived came in one of the ESPN.com headlines yesterday - "Rutgers to retain Ash after 0-9 conference season", or something to that effect. The idea that a school would retain a coach with Ash's record is worthy of a headline says it all.
And, of course, the vicious cycle will continue. By keeping Ash (and Hobbs), we will have the emptiest stadium we have had in years next year, millions in lost ticket and donor revenue, and a job description appealing to no one but the most desperate or inexperienced HC candidates. And more NY Times headlines.
So what's the answer? I personally would rather drop the program than be embarrassed year after year, decade after decade. But that won't happen, of course. Leave the B1G? We would be the bottom feeder in the ACC or AAC or CUSA or any other conference, and make less money. I don't know. But I do know that this isn't working.
If anyone sees a blueprint for success going forward, i would love to hear about it.
