$62.50 per alum... do your part everyone! How can a school with 800,000 living alumni not have the money to send this douchebag packing. And can’t we send trump and his cronies after Barbour for signing such a god awful contract.

We don't need him for 10 years.How’s Urban’s health?
Give him a job cleaning up all the cow poop at the dairy barns. If he refuses you could fire him for job abandonment!Give Franklin a different job and name somebody on the staff head coach. They have to pay him anyway. Head janitor works for me. He could be the highest paid janitor in history.
Makes zero sense. Stay: get paid $50 mil. Get Fired: get $50. Get hired by another school will still get $50m plus whatever extra from the new school.Franklin would be better served by going the Urban route and just retiring early. Get a nice gig on the Fox Big Noon pregame show or some such.
Not defending CJF, and you don't need Marshall, don't sell yourself short, you're all idiots and your coaching skills have nothing to do with it. Franklin is not going anywhere, unless you have an extra 50 Mil and a mouse in your pocket.Speaking of that, where is Marshall defending CJF and informing us we’re all idiots because we’ve never coached a game?
You have to make him feel unwelcome. Take everything you can. Replace his laptop with an obsolete old desktop. No access to private travel. Cut his budgets. Close his restroom. Move his office. Have big donors hassle him. Anything and everything. All the rage and frustration aside, there’s virtually a 0% chance PSU moves on from Franklin after this season. Only Franklin leaving would trigger that outcome and that train left the station today.
But it sets up an interesting dynamic for 2026 when the team looks to be a lot worse on paper. How many rough seasons would Kraft and boosters have the patience for?
The cows deserve better.Give him a job cleaning up all the cow poop at the dairy barns. If he refuses you could fire him for job abandonment!
Why is no one mentioning Pat Fitzgerald? He won his case against NW .My choices in order:
1) Al Golden
2) Jon Gruden
3) Kurt Cignetti
4) Bob Chesney
5) Larry Johnson Sr.
That won’t happen at Penn State and it shouldn’t. The University made its bed and now has to sleep in it.You have to make him feel unwelcome. Take everything you can. I am hopeful.
'Tis better that it happened earlier in the season rather than later.
I tried to tell you people years ago.
Sandy did it for a reason. I could explain why, but it's best I don't. I'll stop now. That won’t happen at Penn State and it shouldn’t. The University made its bed and now has to sleep in it.
These 10-year deals will go down in business and law school case study lore of examples of what not to do. They’re crippling and completely one sided.
Im sure the team all got their hugs and coloring books for the trip home.
I don’t see him as a big improvement. What do you see in him?Why is no one mentioning Pat Fitzgerald? He won his case against NW .
Losing to a dumpster fire 0-4 team is an embarrassment regardless of when it happens. Even if we manage to go 10-2, that loss will likely put us near the bottom of the two-loss pecking order. Won't matter anyway. That won't be our last defeat.I am hopeful.

That deal was made under the last AD. If Kraft is serious about trying to actually contend, he needs to do anything in his power to make Franklin leave. Don't forget, his job might be on the line at some point too. Ultimately, if big donors threaten to withhold money, that would get the ball rolling. Why pay for a senior QB who looks less composed than a high school freshman. That won’t happen at Penn State and it shouldn’t. The University made its bed and now has to sleep in it.

Oh, I follow your drift and you may be right. But the fact remains that Penn State should operate with class and acknowledge this is a problem of their own making.Sandy did it for a reason. I could explain why, but it's best I don't do so. I'll stop now.
There's a photo out there of James hefting Sandy....this one will need to suffice in the interim.

Not to mention guaranteeing it as well as massive buyouts that these schools force upon themselves. Coaches are hired to be fired yet schools continually tie their own hands with these giant buyout numbers. That won’t happen at Penn State and it shouldn’t. The University made its bed and now has to sleep in it.

It’s possible that Kraft is playing a form of hardball by not extending Franklin. Or he may be trying to shorten the contract length in exchange for a higher per-year salary. Not to mention guaranteeing it as well as massive buyouts that these schools force upon themselves. You’re 1 for 5. But the one would be a home run.My choices in order:
1) Al Golden
2) Jon Gruden

PSU is infamous for this... First how to handle the Sandusky case now how to handle JF....That won’t happen at Penn State and it shouldn’t. The University made its bed and now has to sleep in it.

Ricky rahne has done pretty well actually. My top 5 candidates:
Ricky Rahne
Brent Pry
John Donovan
Jay Paterno
Twink Neuheisel
Hopefully just one year. All the rage and frustration aside, there’s virtually a 0% chance PSU moves on from Franklin after this season. Only Franklin leaving would trigger that outcome and that train left the station today.

PSU has become the General Motors of the college sports world. Living off of past success and destroying value left and right.PSU is infamous for this... First how to handle the Sandusky case now how to handle JF....
Love it, but he’s the Hair Apparent at his alma mater.Brian hartline? Be a big risk, but you get great reviever play ans recruiting almost guaranteed, which means Qbs might flock.
Put him on the cheerleader squad, that’s all he is ………… a cheerleader.
Why? Those are important. And currently a lot of the problems with the team.Make him lead recruiter and culture coach
If you can't beat them join them I guess.Brian hartline? Be a big risk, but you get great reviever play ans recruiting almost guaranteed, which means Qbs might flock.
You’re right. And there’s zero need to extend him right now. Still has 7 years left. It’s possible that Kraft is playing a form of hardball by not extending Franklin. Or he may be trying to shorten the contract length in exchange for a higher per-year salary.
PSU has zero leverage with the current deal. It’s an all timer by Sandy, who rode off into the sunset and avoided the repercussions.
I am hopeful.
'Tis better that it happened earlier in the season rather than later.

One thing to keep in mind is that the buyout is offset by his next contract. There is no buyout for Penn State. They owe the balance of the contract if they for him. Buyouts are in contracts if the coach wants to leave to coach elsewhere.
Ricky rahne has done pretty well actually.
He Sucked as OC at PSU- hard pass.Ricky rahne has done pretty well actually.
