Fire Mitch Barnhart

Is this finally enough to remove him from that seat.

@NociHTTP just wondering why you’re voting to keep Mitch in his seat? 5 people have said no and nobody has said why that is. We’re at 9 or 10 out of 10 to remove. I get @The_Answer1313_rivals or whatever. He’s an “everything is fine” even as Rome burns, he’s the fire burning in the coffee shop gif. I know that type. But what are your thoughts here?

I already responded to your other question asking the same thing.

Ah okay well you clicked to retain him. Might want to switch that to fire.
I'm torn on it, for the two reasons I mentioned. It might be better to see what transpires here shortly. I say that because with all that stuff hitting social media Mitch is going to have to do SOMETHING to save his skin.

I guess I can see what you’re saying, but the list of how bad he’s hurt this university basketball and football team, he needs to be fired anyway and would have been anywhere else. Gillispie? At a blue blood? That’s an immediate firing anywhere else. Blue blood football and basketball AD’s don’t survive that. Now JMI, cheerleading / swim team major scandal, best football season he had stripped to scandal, joker, now Pope hire, standing in the way of Calipari and trying to stop it, I just can’t imagine a world where he would be retained. The problem is he’s a hatchet man, he’s supposed advocating for the athletic programs, but he’s advocating for what someone else wants the money for. That’s not his job.

He should 200% be fired and should have been in 2007.

It's time for a revolt against our AD, HE has to be fired before he completely destroys MEN's Basketball. He has never given a crap about the men;s basketball program, just look who he has hired Gillespie ,Pope and was forced to Hire Calipari by former Cats. The fan base needs to do whatever it takes to get rid of this piece of S--T !!!!!!!!!!

How the swim team scandal didn't take him down I will never know.
It’s Eli. He and Barney have created the worst of the worst good ole boy networks. Eli gushes over barney. Things need to change. The entire admin is old and they are not Kentucky guys. Get them the heck outta Kentucky. I want guys in there we trust. Guys who might make a mistake but we KNOW they are for Kentucky and we trust they do what it takes to win: this is the longest serving scam of mediocrity on our athletics program. Paid his good buddy stoops 40 mil to go away after the guy had a season vacated and got a demotivating contract. It’s corruption. The entire stoops deal is corrupt.

I’ve said it for years. Must have men in there that care about the programs. Capiluto couldn’t give a damn he’s an Alabama guy. They seem to have been doing a lot of corrupt things from the get. They were brought in (Mitch) to clean out, what they did was create another good ole boy network and they’ve been running cover for each other paying people out the *** with their BS contracts. They need to be investigated.

Tunny won a national championship. Even though Donovan was who the players wanted and was the right call to make, he did come in and do well with Pitino’s players. So they’re not the ones that retained Tubby when the wheels were falling off. That was all Mitch.

AD’s can’t be perfect but he’s been pitiful.

Not sure if you meant to, but you marked to retain Mitch Barnhart. Have a hard time believing you want to keep that guy after this crap storm he’s created. Mistake?
What?

Billy donovans head coaching record was 48-37 before the 97-98 season...he just finished a 13-17 season at UF and went on to have 14-15 season in 98 at florida. This is a UF that had been to the final four a few years prior under Krueger. Tubby had just taken over Georgia for two years and had them nationally ranked and in the tourney both years as they had missed the tournament 4 or 5 years in a row prior to him getting there. He was in fact a hot name at the time.

With that said, mitchs time has passed. Its a new landscape

Mitch has never been a good AD. In the era of NIL he might be the worst AD in a power conference. He's a 1980's AD in a modern world. ADs in 2025 need to be brand managers and fundraisers. Mitch is still and administrator. That position hasn't existed for 35 years. The money from the expansion of the SEC has masked all his deficiencies. All of those chickens are coming home to roost. This is 23 years of poor brand management coming back to bite us.

I will support Coach Pope because its unfair to call for a man's head when he had an excellent year one and has major injuries through nine games. MB is a different story. He is well past his expiration date

Donovan was who the players wanted. It was between Donovan and Tubby. As we see, Donovan was the guy we should have went with something I’ll listen to the guys who knew both. They all showed up to rally for Billy to get it.

this is not a debate. This is a fact. Barnhart didn’t hire Tubby, but he moved to retain him way too long and when the wheels were falling off. Even tinny knew not to take it because he was headed down a bad road. His failure to get Wright and Psycho T sealed his fate. Donovan went on to win multiple titles and many more final fours and coach in the NBA. Tubby ended up at High Point and was fired many times.

Anyone notie @Verbal Kint II has been MIA?
What a psychotic little mole. JMI or AD office rep. Someone stepped in and said they know him and he’s not, now I question if he’s got multiple accounts. Wild situation. Nobody would gaslight that hard without a reason. Guy was getting angrier about it too, every time his gaslighting bs was called out.

What was the name of the one that used to do this same thing with the AD’s office? Simply post to gaslight?

man this couldn’t be more right on and it’s something I’ve tried to say for years to people who would “best AD in UK history” us to death. It’s always been nonsense. The revenue for modern athletics covered how awful he is as an AD. Men before him wildly out performed him given the resources they had to work with which were minimal. He’s a dinosaur but the issue is he shouldn’t still be in this position. Any blue blood would have definitely removed him after Joker and Billy G. No way a flagship SEC would retain a mess like that, especially given he tried to stop the Calipari hire. That right there, when you have to go around an AD to make that hire, when coupled with all the other issues, shows an institutional issue with understanding the job.

And you have to ask, how has he survived this? His job was not to win when he was brought in. It’s supposed to be an advocate for sports, he’s been advocating things not in his job description. The university has been trying to get away from “basketball university” and have an obsession with raising academics on campus and being landlords. The entire crew has to be removed.

Starting to think verbal kint is actually mitch barhart....he hasn't been seen since the truth about jmi has come out. The contract should be voided due to all the corrupt BS and the major players getting rich on both sides to the detriment of recruiting

I do think he’s either a troll or a mole from the AD’s office. They do this, I know of it being done at Memphis in the 2,000’s. Cal used to have grad assistants scour message boards. I know someone who knew a grad assistant and he told him it’s one of the things they did on MTorg.

Calipari was very interested in what the fanbase was saying and thinking. I’m sure it happens here, but don’t know details at all as it pertains to this. It just seems like it.

This JMI deal feels like just the latest way Barnhart used all the leverage he could get to guarantee we were screwed as far into the future as possible.

We used to make jokes about how we sent Kenny Payne to UL to destroy them. Whoever sent Mitch Barnhart here made us look like amateurs.

He’s never going to get fired. Stop it. He’ll retire and then UK can move on.

Better to fire, set a standard. We are known for basketball which, not many even are. And he can’t half *** handle that. He’s pitiful. Awful AD. He doesn’t deserve that corrupt parachute, he needs to be held accountable.

How about no. I won’t.

I might know a few things of what that’s telling about. There are 3 major issues going on and I don’t believe Mitch will survive any of this. His crap has finally come home to roost.

At worst, he will be allowed an early retirement. I thought it was amazing when he breezed through hiring joker and billy g at the same time.

Then he really flexed his muscles when the swim coach sex abuse scandal had proof Mitch knew about it but did nothing. At the height of #metoo, he just brushed that all under the rug. Im sure the university did or will pay tens of millions in that suit.

If he can breeze through that swim coach issue, a bad nil contract will be light work.

I thought for sure he’d be fired in 2007. I was actually waiting on it after the Gillispie story broke. This is Kentucky and this AD has survived the worst moves in program history. It’s then I realized he’s not here to win, he’s here to be a hatchet man for establishment hacks who want to be landlords.
You are exactly right. Another school wood have fired him so long ago it’s crazy.

Imagine Alabama football, or Ohio state, or any sport with the greats retaining a guy that’s done what Mitch has.

his orders aren’t to win to Kentucky standards. It’s right in front of us.

We you have to reverse course to fix a debacle you caused is the only reason needed for termination. If it was a one-off mistake in judgement sure but Mitch has a long history of making such errors. I’m like another poster he needs to fired but I wouldn’t mind seeing someone kick him in the balls as they deliver the news.
