Dump that ************. and stop attending home games
Fan support is the only thing keeping this program "alive" in any reasonable definition of the word. It’s a miracle that there is still as much fan support as there is. Unfortunately I think the only option left to start moving the needle is for people to stop showing up.
I thought I had read that the extension did not increase his buyout. Apparently I am mistaken. How did it not increase the buyout? He added two more years at 12million plus guaranteed. Appears to me the buyout increased by 24-25 million.
Dannon did not need to play any cards at that time to begin with. That was his first mistake. And Dannen gave Rhule two more years at $12 million a year. Those years would have to be bought out.Dannen did not hire Ruhle. And the extension did not increase the already huge buyout. Dannen played his cards right at the time. If anything the extension was NU friendly, It increased Ruhle's buyout to 15 million.
I think our secondary is the strength of this team, but the other areas are so weak that more is being asked of the secondary. Marshall and Jones actually played pretty well. But our safeties sucked and it wasn't Wright's finest hour. Blitzing him and he just runs past the QB?We had players blow multiple assignments today that ended in points for Iowa after huge chunk plays. Is that coaching or is that not having good enough players? Do your job. Make a tackle when you have a chance. Don’t blow your pass coverage.![]()
We have better athletes and Iowa has better football players. And no, I'm not making excuses for coaches. It's not an either... or.we have better athletes than Iowa
Iowa has 10x better coaching than we do
Damn! Obama with the zingers! LOL! Keep it up!you can't follow a conversation can you?
sit down moron
True. And what the hell is the deal with fans still going to road games? How many times do you have to spend a weekend and hundreds of dollars to just get kicked in the balls before you start asking why you keep doing this? It’s a miracle that there is still as much fan support as there is. Unfortunately I think the only option left to start moving the needle is for people to stop showing up.
Way to read my post and not understand what I said. We change players. We change coaches. We change ADs. We change university presidents. I'm not sure that firing Rhule in a month is going to put us on any better trajectory than we're on. It doesn't matter if they're not coaching these kids up. No one has "coached these kids up" at Nebraska in 20 years. It's a horrible program that good coaches aren't going to touch. There is no magic aura that was imparted by Devaney or Osborne.Doesn’t get any more naive than these 2 idiotic responses. So it’s everyone else’s but the coaches fault? Totally delusional. Rhule is obviously in over his head, has no idea how to field a physical team or manage a game, is TERRIBLE at hiring coaches and developing players. None of that is even disputable lol
I’m just happy that the word retarded is back. Even the president of the United States is calling people retarded on social media.
So we’re not a serious program and will be stuck as a bottom dweller for the foreseeable future?Way to read my post and not understand what I said. We change players. We change coaches. Yep. Just need to allow kids whatever latitude they need in order to settle who gets to sit in the back seat on the bus and we'll be back.I’m just happy that the word retarded is back. Even the president of the United States is calling people retarded on social media.
Until the culture among players changes, yes. I'm more interested in what's been going on with sports psychology in the AD than I am who the actual head coach of the football team is. I question in particular why it seems that men's sports can't thrive in Lincoln. Haven't been able to thrive in Lincoln, for so long. I know that there used to be articles in the Omaha World Herald about our sports psychology program way back when. Maybe it's because we were so good for so long, and it was easy to say we must be doing something right in that department? I don't know, but our football players have been way too comfortable with losing, and that hasn't changed one bit as we've changed coach after coach after coach. So we’re not a serious program and will be stuck as a bottom dweller for the foreseeable future?
