Uconn has been operating like we did when I fell in love with Kentucky
UCONN has won six championships in 27 years. I have no point. Just sharing my disgust.
And two of those could've been UK titles
Another two, Dukes. That's the trade off. Duke was winning it in 99 and 2004 if not for them. They also busted Duke's chances this past year, so we have that to thank them for.
Weirdest program ever. In the last 20 years, a one seed has won the NC 16x. One of the other 4 is 2016 Nova as a 2 seed. The other three times were UConn at 3, 7 and 4.

8 final fours with 6 titles might be one of the craziest things to me. Just wild when you start to compare that with other teams with 5 or more titles.
Does anybody think there was a east coast boost in those tournaments kind of like we have the opposite of a boost in the tournament. Talking about officiating.
I have long thought UCONN gets to play as physical as they want but no one outside the big east is allowed to match them in that regard.

I don't think so. A number of their champions came out of the West region I think. It's over half.
Just seems like every championship they have won has been on cruise control. At least two of those championships Im not sure if a team was within ten points of them the entire tournament.

Their last two they breezed through, won by an average of 22 points a game across two tournaments. I believe the first one was out of the West, they curb stomped Gonzaga in the E8.
I'm pretty sure that 99 NC was out of the West, because Duke had the East. Then 1 or two of the others was West too.
Seems we are going all in on Uvwo and Nasir Anderson as our center and PG recruits. Uvwo would be a massive get. Absolute stud on defense.
If you removed those 6 title run seasons Uconn really has done nothing, it really is such a weird (or lucky) program.
And I still don’t find myself hating them like I do unc or duke. Uconn’s titles, albeit lucky, sfill feel more legit to me than the majority of the Duke and UNC titles i’ve witnessed.

Hometown kid with everyone pushing him there. Awesome kid. Real quiet just does his own thing. Just not sure he will want the Kentucky limelight at the end of the day.
The difference between Mark Pope and Dan Hurley on a recruiting visit. If they land this kid too, another football dad (passed away ex Bengal Chris Henry), we should just give up. Hurley, oddly and coincidentally, is a fargin Bengals fan. You can't make this up.

Not sure it's nothing. I believe they had 4 Elite 8's in the 90's before that title, one of them squashed by that Laettner buzzer beater. Calhoun had it priming for awhile.

Some coaches just have a coolness, and sadly, just havent really seen that in Pope. Winning does cure all though, I guess. Hurley doing this 5 years ago and the kid probably walks away lol.
LOL - you're probably right. Not sure most coaches could pull that off TBH. Could you imagine Bill Self trying that? Hurley has some **** going on I've not really seen in CBB. He's a savage. I don't know how long he sticks around, but what you know you'll get while he does is the hardest working team in CBB.
The couple of guys that could pull that off are Musselman and Underwood - I remember Underwood going at it with super soakers with his team in the locker room. It's a bit different though - he feels like your fun drunk uncle, where Hurley feels like a maniac that wants to go to war with you.
I don't hate UNC. They don't have the bandwagon fans or any elitist attitude. They've had mainly likeable players.
It's hard to hate UConn, don't know what it is.
Then there is Duke, elitist, rich kid, country club of a program.
UConn feels like a cross fit gym.
Go on over to a uconn message board, type in Kentucky and see how they feel about us.
Wouldn’t help us much this year coming that late. He’s super thin and still developing his shot.
But if pope had a video doing it it would be he’s not cool and he’s cringe. Some fans just love misery
