First game this season with "my" lineup(first 7 batters anyway)...

I don't pretend to say that "my" way is best -- so we'll certainly see today...
Frasier
Bradford
Renfroe
Detz
Rea
Porter
Pirtle
Ammirati
Robson

I love this setup for a number of reasons I've already gone through before...

- Breaks up the L/R alignment at the top of our lineup.
- Puts a RBI/contact hitter between the two best power guys Rea and Renfroe, who are both likely K guys(although Renfroe's contact hitting has been MUCH better so far this year) -- and Detz has been struggling lately.
- Gets all 6 of our best hitters in the lineup for(maybe) the first time all year.

I like giving Robson opportunities. I love how he plays the game -- and the fact that he's a much more game-savvy/situational player in left compared to Henderson. He handles the bat well and will be a good hitter sooner or later. He's heir apparent to CT's role in center...

Ammirati is a dead horse at this point -- although my position on him is softening if he keeps gunning down runners and hitting...

I do like this lineup. If only we could get a starting pitcher to show the 17 up. Lindgren and Graveman are all we have right now when it comes to starters. Who woulda thunk it?

Well looks like cox does not want that Sunday spot. I don't know if pitchers are nervous or pressing or what's going on.

I thought Cox threw fine.

Not much you can do about flares over the head of the infield -- and a misplayed ball in right. He should have been out of that inning with a runner on first...

I disagree. Cox has not been hitting his spots consistently all night so far. You can't miss on an 0-2 pitch and leave a hanger out over the plate. Our pitchers are a bunch of head cases right now. They look scared to death, and like they feel they need to be picture perfect every pitch. Aiming the ball and overthrowing...I don't know what is going on with Cox, Woodruff, and Evan Mitchell. Hell, even Holder has looked underwhelming in his last several attempts. Anyone got any clues?

Cox is a clown.

He's not the only one in our group of pitchers. We have a 3 ring circus. For all the hype surrounding this pitching staff, I've been quite disappointed. I haven't given up on them, but I'm beginning to wonder if they'll turn it around

Yeahhhh, nevermind.

Obviously, he doesn't want the role either...

Now I'm worried we are going to wear out Ross Mitchell's arm. I would say start him as our Sunday guy, but unfortunately he's the only one we can rely on out of the pen on Friday and Saturday. We are in a real bind right now when it comes to our staff. We've got Gentry, Ross, and Bracewell.....that's it. And Im not sold on Gentry completely.

So is woodruff gonna pitch any or has he been shut down for awhile?

I wish we could get up by about 8 runs and then bring Woodruff in to pitch a few innings....unfortunately we can't get a good lead because our pitchers can't quit giving up runs, and we can't knock in a lead off double.

This is my favorite lineup that we have had out there in a while though. I still haven't figured out why we can't play Detz at 2nd where he has always played until this year...and then we could put Norris at 3rd, and have both bats in the lineup. Norris will never become a better defender by playing one game a week. I say put his *** out there and leave him, and put Detz at 2nd. But I'm okay with tonight's.

Hindsight 20/20 -- had Detz laid down a B>U>N>T instead of popping up in the infield, Porter's liner to right likely scores Renfroe for the lead.

Of course, I'm just following on live stats at the moment, so I'm not sure it had the depth -- and also not sure that Detz didn't "attempt" to ****...

I'd be shocked if Holder starts. Is there a reason why R. Mitchell has never started? He seems to work 5 or 6 each weekend. If he can do that he should be able to start.

Bracewell seems to be the better of the two right now. Bens pitched in pressure situations too
