Watched the game replay to get a second look at a few plays from Saturday night, and there were 3 offensive plays that made a big impact on the first half. These were plays we had complete control of and were not adversely impacted by the opposition, but we failed to execute.

1. 2 point try after first TD. The merit of even trying it aside, we got the situation we wanted, MoJo was wide open, it was an easy pitch and catch for 2, and Dak throws it a his feet. Left 2 points on the table.

2. Throw back screen to Morrow. He has some good running room, if not a score, if Siddoway gets any kind of block. Had to settle for field goal, might had to anyway, but if we would have scored a TD that's another 4 points left on the table.

3. Russell to Lewis misfire in 3 and short in the drive after we took the lead. Again, Lewis running wide open, an easy pitch and catch, and we don't connect. Completion gets fresh set of downs and keeps clock running. Don't think LSU would have had enough time even if we had to punt later. That's 7 less for LSU.

Potentially a 13 point swing in those 3 plays, everything else being equal. Execute those plays and it could have been 29-21 MSU at half. Can't afford this lack of execution against the big dog SEC teams and win.

That's my take as well. I liked the play calls. The players just didn't execute.

The drive after the Whitley INT stalled on Dak misfires too. He missed someone, Morrow(?), on a dig route on 3rd down, and then was late hitting Perkins on a wheel route on 4th down.

Huge misfires too.

Dak's ability to run opens up different possibilities in our offense. But his accuracy, or lack there of, really kind of puts us back one- dimensional.. He had his good and bad throws.. I'm hoping with every snap he gains some confidence and gets in a rhythm
